The new rank system has further encouraged zerging and not defending points. As it stands you are better off taking a point and then losing it so you can retake it for more WvW exp. This could be fixed by giving huge exp boosts from defending a point, somewhere on the line of 3 to 4 times what you get from caping a point. Also try to have bonus exp based on how much you currently control. This would have a double benefit of you wouldn’t have servers trying to lose to drop in tier because they don’t like their current tier.

I was around for beta but i do agree that siege weapons need to be stronger.

Also it shouldnt be so easy to take structures
these should be the rough ratios it takes to take structures that have not been upgraded in any way in my opinion
towers for every 3 attackers 1 defenders should be able to hold off
keeps for every 6 attackers 1 defender should be able to hold off

more upgrades make it harder to take

Look in WvWvW Zerging is a tactic that is understandable, as you need a zerg to take down walls. The maps are also large enough so that a zerg con not control 100% or even 75% of the map.

Although in SPvP it is a problem the maps are smaller and it is easier to hold if you zerg, which removes the skill from the game. Spirit watch map is horrible for this and because of this I pretty much stop playing PvP. I wish that Arena Net would enlarge the maps are do something so that Zerg is not the way to win.

It seems to me that the history of WvWvW has been a problem of the NPCs not scaling to PC behavior.

At first, we had dolyak escorting give XP. This caused people who were understandably bored of leveling in PvE to show up in droves. Since there was a zerg around the doyak, did it help the dolyak at all? Nope, it had the exact same amount of movement speed, HP, and defense. Dolyak XP removed, so people would play the game.

Then, there was keep defense. Nowadays, “Repel the enemy invaders” just goes away once it ticks off completely, no XP no money no karma. Again, the NPCs have the same stats whether you’re there or not, and the door has the same amount of HP and defense.

So the only thing left to do is run around ikittenerg and flip capture points. Zerging is, after all, the only thing that scales up based on your presence.

Anet favors Zerging, so I doubt that anything in here will get implimented. Rather, Zerging will become even better.
