Color coded crafting tools
Maybe this could be part of

Same idea could work for those too. If they made rarity outlines game wide.

Yeah it would be nice and would make switching tools or organizing inventory a LOT easier
+1 to this!
There have been times where I’ve used orichalcum tools in a lower level zone; I always carry mithril tools to switch out in lower level zones (orichalcum tools are expensive). I’ve also done the opposite, using mithril tools on orichalcum ore or some other high level material (ruining the material).
+1 to the idea.
Plus some others:
- Show the level of tool equipped in the gathering prompt, e.g. Mine (darksteel tool) [F]
- Auto-switch (optional) to the lowest level tool that will work, e.g. if you have steel and mithril tools in Metrica, you’d use the steel one no matter which is equipped.
- Allow people to pay (karma or coin) to combine tools, e.g. a 23-use copper sickle + 37-use copper sickle = 60-use copper sickle. Stack up to 250 uses (lose any extras when combining).
/agree to all of the above!
Another idea is to have different colored nodes on the mini-map to indicate what tier ore/tree they are. I’m not sure how this would work with plants, but the other two should be pretty easy to come up with a color system for.
Copper/Aspen, Ekku, Kertch: Brownish
Silver/Gummo, Mimosa, Snow Cherry: Silver
Iron/Gummo, Mimosa, Snow Cherry, Fir, Tukawa: Red
Gold/Fir, Tukawa: Gold
Platinum/Banyan, Inglewood, Pine: Grey
Mithril/Baoba, Cypress, Red Oak: Blue
Orichalcum/Ancient, Orrian: Orange
Some colors are too close, like Silver and Grey, but one should grasp the idea. Perhaps Purple can be used for one of them instead; I was trying to go with the color of the ore, but some are too close in color.
