I have been looking at the weaponry and wondering why we cannot match it to our armor? I can understand specific icons and heraldry on the weapons and shields, but the materials used to craft them should be able to be matched up to the armor itself that the player wears. This will make each character even more unique.
Imagine if you will a Warrior of the Charr carrying one of the Legion specific shields that can be picked up for karma, and the shield itself matches the player’s armor, but the legions heraldry stands out in stark relief against a Blood Legionaire’s Black Cherry Dyed metal, or a Seraph Roleplayer having a Midnight Ice coloration for shield and sword hilt with a Winter Ice blade and highlights? A Sword dyed Abyss or Daffodil for a Sylvari? The many combinations are as diverse as the armor they match.
Customized weapons with personal dyes and skinning, sounds like a good update.
Yes.
I’d love to see you able to dye your weapons in-game.
Raven’s Wings, I’d pay for such an update!
Then By Bear’s Tenacity, Wolf’s Cunning, and Leopard’s Wisdom we will make this happen!

I really don’t want to watch on swords with pink blades.
It is very odd that weapons cannot be dyed, yet armor can. For stylists, this actually restricts the colors you can use on your armor to those used by your weapon. Should be changed.
By Balthazar, I hope anet does this!
If memory serves, wasn’t this possible in gw1?

That’s nothing compared to some items that are already in-game: Have you seen what some of the legendary weapons look like?
Also when you look at peoples clothing colour styles, the overwhelming majority of them are quite tasteful. This highlights that the same thing would happen with weapon colours.

^.^ I was dead tired when I wrote that at 4am in the morning. lol

Yes that was possible in GW1
As someone who uses a new setup of dyes 1-2 times a week, this surely is bothersome, to limit my colour palette every so often simply because my weapon has a set dye I highly support your idea
would be awesome to have weapon that match your armor
I agree, just imagine an item like Anomaly (it usually glows purple/pink), glowing a different colour to match your armour… or Twilight… asdfghjkl…
I’m certain that in the future, ArenaNet will introduce this. It seems quite odd that they left the feature out, especially when it was quite popular in Guild Wars 1!
I am glad that so many are agreeing with this so far. I hope that everyone who agrees will help keep this on the first Forum page so that it can be noticed faster and possibly implemented. Since the coding for it is already in the game.
oh yes please… i already have a purple glowing blade from asura but it is never enough!
My ears! What an intriguing notion.
Not sure the coding is already in the game though, the dye is sure. But since the weapons aren’t dyeable now that likely means they do not have dye zones broken down the way armor does. Which, if that’s the case would mean editing every single weapon to first add dye zones, then edit the weapon’s texture sets to include all those other colors. I could be entirely wrong but that sounds like a rather huge undertaking >.<
Would like the feature though, so here’s hoping I’m wrong!

The way I see it is that this is something that needs to be added to complete the dye system. While it may take a lot of work to set up dye zones, it will take even longer if it is added in the future after new weapon skins are created.
I like when my stuff matches, its sort of annoying that my huge shield has yellow outline that can only be matched with [Banana Dye] i dont want that on my armor but i like the shield so instead i have this neon yellow bordered shield and ugly neon yellow armor. Had i been able to dye the border, ide go with a midnight blue but sadly i cant so im the walking armored banaman.
Would be a fantastic patch, and i wonder why it wasn’t there before, (legendaries should not be dyeable for obvious textureing reasons, but standard weapons and shields should as they were in GW1.
Yes please. I would so love this. This prolly won’t work for legendaries but it should’ve been an option for all others except guild.
Even if they limited it only to certain sets such as exotics or ascended. Id be ecstatic.
Been discussed before. No feedback from Anet on it yet.
+1 from me on it.
