You know, when you enter combat in Guild Wars 2, everything’s fine and dandy. You attack your opponent, dodges their attacks, chain your skills…

But then, what if your opponent charges towards you and stops behind you? It still continues to attack, but your character stops. Even if you were in the middle of using a skill, like (in my case) poison darts, mid-skill my character stops because apparently there is no mechanism to make my character automatically turn around, face the opponent, and keep attacking.

It would be really nice to have such a simple mechanism implemented. Would make combat far more fluid and fun, because right now, it kinda pisses me off whenever the enemy is situated behind me, and the skill I am using suddenly stops, and then I have to wait for it to recharge.

Just a simple suggestions. Agree? Disagree? Both? Neither? Let me know. And I am not trying to bash on Guild Wars 2. Just trying to suggest a simple mechanic.

Disagree. Combat isn’t meant to be done on auto-pilot. Making positioning an important aspect of fighting something is what adds a bit of spice, instead of becoming just full on turreting and button mashing. Becomes even more prevalent in PvP.

Well, it’s not like I expect it to be fully-automated, but it’s pretty annoying when mid-skill, the skill cancels, my character completely stops fighting (and just stands there like an idiot) and my enemy keeps attacking fluidly like nothing happened; and then I have to wait for my skill to recharge and hope it won’t be cancelled mid-skill again. :/
