When I’m playing PVE, I don’t give a flip where some pay-to-be commander is on the map. If there’s even a reason to have a commander in PVE, please give us an option to disable the icon on our map and mini maps. It’s becoming annoying, and as more people start acquiring it, the more commander icon clutter there is going to be.

Apologies if this has already been posted. I performed a search for “commander,” to no avail.

Thanks!

I agree with the OP. We need to be able to choose WHICH commanders to display and which to hide. A list of tick boxes would be cool.

You can do this after buffing the guardian.
/signed.

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

There’s a suggestion on this already… erm, somewhere.

I added to that for the reason of: The Commander Icon on the mini-map covers the icons for shops, banks, crafting locations, etc. Add to that, I am seeing more and more “Commanders” roaming about in cities now. Had 7 of them in LA yesterday; all of them standing on and covering locations of importance.

Just removing the icon for all but WvW areas will go a long way in helping solve the problem.

Agreed. Usually, the only icons that superimpose themselves on the map are major events, but with the Commander icon now showing up, not only could it block important landmarks, but also interfere with major events, especially if that Commander is fighting it.

If you’re going to have them in PvE, at least make it worth more than a status symbol. Let them give out an area buff to nearby players or something. Until then, it’s a 100-gold eyesore that somebody else paid for.
