Commander: Taking over WvW/PvE siege/turrets
You only need 100g to buy a commander tome. I have actually seen quite a few people who come into WvW, having hardly ever played WvW, who come in with a tag and demand to command since they have it. I remember one that didn’t even know what an Arrow Cart was or how to place one…
So, this would be a VERY bad idea. Though there are many GREAT commanders, there are also many BAD commanders…

I have maybe done four hours of WvW and to be honest I don’t even know where to find Tequatl. I have enough gold to buy a few commander tags for my alts if I wanted to. I’m a friendly player and would not abuse such a thing if I had it. However, ask yourself, if you didn’t know that about me would you want to give me that power?

SOME commanders are players who have decided to become leaders and help others.
OTHER commanders are just players with gold to burn and the desire to have a special tag for their character.
Giving the latter group the power to boot another player off a turret is not something I would really advocate, personally. Could easily lead to intentional trolling by a commander who’s going to screw around just to mess up others. Or favoritism toward guildmates of the commander, he could boot other players to let guildmates grab the turrets instead. Or the other side of that, where a commander could just be spiteful towards another guild and want to kick all their players off the turrets. Or end up resulting in a commander who think’s he’s gods gift to turret use kicking someone who’s legitimately great at using a turret.
And honestly, even giving the former group such a power has potential for negative consequences, where rather than teaching players how to correctly use the turrets the commanders just boot the players outright, leaving less opportunity to learn and less overall players experienced at turret use (you yourself sort of suggested that sort of thing, commanders “taking over” for new players). Or, as in the above case of the bad commanders, even a legit commander could think he’s really good at turret use and boot someone even better that’s already using the turret.
Most of the time the commanders are the ones placing the siege down. If they do they can kick whoever they want off of it (expect golems, the most expensive piece of siege yet any troll can just steal it. ????)
As for the Teq turrets, I’ve seen some pretty noob Tags firing at the fingers while the zerg died.

a commander in wvw should not have promission to do anything to the siege other place but like the rest he should have the right to do so to the siege he places
there is nothing wrong with the way wvw siege is working now other the golems but i gess the golems is close to impossible to fix if not impossible to do anything about, given it proberly works as a transformation
so in wvw its nothing but something that can be abused but dont help anything

I do like this idea, but until the criteria for commander is more comprehensive than, “I feel like blowing 100G for no reason,” it’s not a good change to make.
