Hi

Many guilds and communities are starting to run events for players to attend and atm these posts have nowhere to go other than more general forums.

My guild has been running weekly events and contests for a few months now and due to the activity of the forums its getting harder to spread the word(other than continued bumping). There are also a few other guilds starting to schedule events and contests too and I expect they will soon run into the same issues.

Players Helping Players would seem to be a nice place to put these, but again they soon get absorbed into other topics.

It would seem logical to be able to have a place where people can go to see what’s going on in their region community wise and see how they can join in.

Not only would it help to raise the profile of these events it helps establish a more integrated community feel to the game.

This is different from server forums as guild/community events can be open for anyone. There’s a growing number of activities, some of which are weekly. Having a central location for them would be of huge help

Sometimes I wonder if each forum should have the capacity for a sub-forum of common threads posted in that forum. It hard to ensure people post in the right places, and also to make those posts remain visible. The mods are great for sorting out the categories, but the conversations here sometimes run too thick and fast for anything but some hot topics to remain visible.

I wonder if perhaps OPs could ask mods to give their thread a date-terminated stickiness, a way for a post to remain at the top of forum (for a maximum reasonable time length) until it expires. The mod would need to assess if the reason given by the OP, as clearly stated in the post, is valid. This could be done with a tick box selected in the advanced editing options of the post, for example “Request Sticky, Expiry date:”. The mods would then process it.
Having expiry dates might also be a good way for the currently stickied topics to eventually fall down the list. Perhaps even give those topics an automatic expiry date set to 1 day after the last post made.

People vary.
