TL;DR: Just read the bold parts.

I’ve been writing a list of things I’d like to see added to this game since launch, I forgot a bunch of the ideas before I started writing them down… and some have already been implemented(to do with crafting) but I’d like to list the rest of my ideas now as well. These ideas have nothing really to do with balancing classes, so don’t expect that.

8 Wide Character Select Screen
You guys made the character select screen start to scroll after 7, and put 8 classes in the game… Come on! At least give me the satisfaction of seeing all 8 of my characters at once, there’s PLENTY of room after all.

Selective TP withdrawal
I don’t like that my only option in the Trading Post is to “Take All”, I think we should have a slightly more selective system that doesn’t force you to take everything at once. Its a small gripe, but still, an idea.

Shared Account wide Gold
I really don’t see a point in personal cash pools on characters and your bank, why not just instantly bank all gold and have all characters pull from that for everything?

Selective Autoloot
There may be exploit potential with this, and its not even something I would use very often if at all, but I think it’d be nice to have the option to ignore certain loot when my inventory was full, so that I could pick up important stackable items and leave behind un-impotant junk.

Cross Server LFG
I’m sure everyone will start losing their spit at this one, because it was in a certain other game, but its in a lot of other games as well, and it works VERY WELL. Its a good system, and currently finding a group without a huge guild is really lame in this game. If you disagree you aren’t trying to run dungeons on a lower pop pve server.

Dungeon Token Storage
These dungeons tokens are taking up a lot of space in my bank/inventory. I don’t know if everyone else is having this problem, but I think it would be great to have them as just another type of Currency, or perhaps stored in the Collectibles storage, except allowing us to stack more than 250, since some pieces cost as much as double that.

Moving your Weapon bar skills
We can already essentially do this by changing number keys, but some people(especially GS Guardians) I’m sure would really like to be able to move where their 1-5 keys are in that little bar.

Large Scale Instanced PvE
Yes, I mean Raiding, essentially. I’m sure I can’t be the only person who was sad to find out 5-mans were the largest dungeons available… Open world events are fine and good, but lack substance and availability. My favorite part of games is large-scale end-game content and playing with all my friends. I just can’t really do that in GW2 right now though. WvW is fine and good for people who love PvP, but PvE players who don’t PvP do exist…. quite a few of us, actually.

More Stat Balanced Runes
No, not the kind of balancing you typically see… More balanced like Multiple stat combos. Imagine something like…
(1): +10 Power, +10 Precision, +5 Toughness
(2): +10% Boon Duration
(3): +20 Power, +20 Precision, +10 Toughness
(4): 5% Chance to summon a giant frog that heals nearby allies with its tongue.
(5): +35 Power, +35 Precision, +20 Toughness
(6): 5% Chance to create a poison cloud AoE on Critical Hit

New Weapon Ideas
Lastly, I had some weapon ideas, some obvious, some unorthodox.

Hand Cannon
No not a heavy pistol, and not a wrist pistol… More like a small two-handed carry around cannon. Imagine it held sort of like a mini-gun would be carried, with a handle in the front to be held above.

Naturally the only obvious user of this would be the engineer, and it may be better suited as a new utility skill for him rather than a full weapon. The idea is essentially a melee weapon sort of like an axe for a warrior. Short range burst attacks that hit in a moderate cone, as well as one long range charge up attack.

Crossbow
This seems like an obvious weapon to add, and the first class I think of with this is Guardian. Scepter and Staff have their uses, but as far as dealing legitimate damage goes they fall short of most other ranged weapons on other classes. Crossbow could be a more viable ranged DPS option for the guardian, similar to the Rifle for warriors. This is just a base idea, but its something to work with.

Scythes
I love scythes, and I’d love to see them in this game. Dervish was without a doubt my favorite GW1 class and I was sad when there was no mention or evidence of a scythe in GW2. I of course mean a REAL scythe, not those dinky staff effects with Necros… The scythe could easily be a new option for necromancers, since they seem to be the only class lacking a Melee Cone option at the moment. It could be a bit more defensive based, perhaps adding something like Bone Armor as a skill associated with it.

Polearms
Much like scythes, I enjoy Halbreds and Lances. Polearms would most likely fit as a short/mid-ranged single target focused CC or DPS weapon. Either keeping enemys at bay, or delivering large ammounts of bleeding and/or vulnerability. Warrior and Ranger come to mind as well as perhaps Elementalists for polearms primarily, but really many other classes could potentially use them as well. Even easier, you could simply make Spears usable on land, and save the trouble of adding more weapons into the game.

Whips/Chains
Another short/mid-range melee weapon, this already appears to be in the game, as seen on quite a bit of the sylvari NPCs and even used yourself in a few cases like in the Story Mode missions for sylvari. An obvious choice seems like Mesmers would use this, or perhaps an unannounced Indiana Jones class.

Claws/Knuckles
A great dwarf once said his own name loudly, and then punched a lot of people. I’d like to see some Fist weapons in game, or have options for 1-5 with nothing equipped even. Thieves of course would be the most likely candidate for these weapons.

Two-Handed Axes
I believe this has actually been commented on at some point by a Dev and already somewhat confirmed… but Regardless, I feel it needed to mention. The only class this would really fit with however seems to be Warrior, and maybe to a small degree Ranger.

So these are all my ideas…. for the time being. I’ll no doubt think of 5 more things I forget shortly after posting this. I’m sure plenty of random people will flat out disagree with me, and its unlikely this will get much attention, but at least I can say I tried to get my ideas out there. I really enjoy GW2, and I’d really enjoy seeing it do even more.
