Completing the Map

Yes it was a pain to finish the WvW map but once you get into a Zerg group it is very easy. Once you get most of the WvW map completed you can always change your server to get the rest. That is what I did but then again that was before you had to pay for it.
Map completion is for completing all the maps.
WvW maps are maps.
Crafting legendaries is designed to incorporate all aspects of the game, not just PvE.
… but it really limits my PVE bubble and chance at eventually crafting legendary weapons myself. …
You know that you need “badges of honor” (badge of jumping) for your legendary?

I was thinking about this & arrived at some kind of solution.
Remove WvWvW maps from 100% completion & make them an achievement of their own.
Now before people cry out “I completed it all, so should you. I got the achievement & the star the hard way, so should you”, I have a simple solution.
Make the Map completion achievement only require PvE map, & give 1 star for PvE map & a 2nd star for WvWvW map.
This means people that already completed it will have both stars & those of us that don’t want to do the WvWvW maps, do not have to to get the achievement.
So people who just do the map completion for WvW get a whole star? That really kind of cheapens it
I do have a questions about map completion though. I currently have 100% map completion. Will this change going forward when they continue to add waypoints and other POI?

This has happened several times already via updates. You still have the star and the title even without the new items

Exploration is a PvE past time because it has sweet kitten all to do with clubbing your fellow player over the head until loot falls out, and it’s as much a PvP activity as crafting. Map completion is an act of exploration. Ergo, map completion is a PvE activity and shouldn’t involve WvW maps — all two of them.

You misunderstood me. You only get a star for WvWvW completion if you have completed PvE map.
not a huge fan of pvp either, but i completed twice and the wvwvw maps were the easier to complete. you just have to go there and visit the keeps and tower your server has conquered. you don’t have to pay for waypoints and you don’t have to discover them (if they are there anyway).
lots of vista and a good number of POI and all the skill points you don’t have to wait they are conquered and can easily skip the fight.
btw wvwvw is not even a real pvp most of the time it’s like fighting in a huge more challenging pve meta event and to conquer keeps you kill an npc.
there is a real problem though if your server is losing all the time, in fact this could slow the process. anyhow just go there and see for yourself what is it about. can be fun and thrilling, i promise.

Because some servers aren’t as fluid as others in their ranking, so you may never end up (let’s say, for conversation) as the green team, so unless your server does the impossible and caps all of EB while you happen to be online, it’s impossible to finish world completion.
Removing the WvW requirement isn’t the solution imo. Just make the EB starting zones rotate like the battlegrounds do, regardless of ranking in the current match, so everyone has a fair shot at getting completion.

I hate WvWvW too but I have completed it and it didnt took so long…well i was lucky too. Well heres an advice for you: be patient. This was what i did I waited and checked which territories my server had and completed the map in small parts. You have to be lucky too to finish it fast but it worked out for me

This is not an argument for map completion. This is an argument for changes in how WvW chooses your color.

I would just like to say that getting 100% map completetion is GW2 is a lot easier than it was in GW1. So imagine if we had to huge the wall for months on end just to get the .01% left.
I do what I want only, I am here for fun, so I don’t plan on doing any map completion thing at all. I am not here to entertain griefers, so I am just as happy to bypass this stuff.
I don’t think it was a good idea to include WvWvW maps in map completion. Well over 90% of it is PvE only and can hang completely on your efforts. The WvWvW map points are not and they’re not even connected to the world that makes up the vast majority of the game and 3 of the 4 maps are identical, so much for exploring. And I’m not even mentioning Legendaries, some people just want to explore and have something to show for it, even if its a cosmetikittentle star. Also you can get the badges without getting to finish the map so please don’t attach those two like they go hand in hand, especially with how quickly towers/keeps can get flipped which ends up with players constantly being on a map they don’t want to be and not caring about helping their server. I can’t count how many times someone has ran passed us engaging the enemy only to grab a vista and leave(on queued maps no less). Servers being totally dominated is another issue and transferring is a sad solution.
