I don’t know if it has bothered many other players but this gets me every time.

When composing a new mail by clicking on the mail icon at the top of the screen then selecting “compose” I then expect to be able to instantly start typing the name of the person in the “To” box.

However, instead I find myself auto running, opening the map and performing all kinds of actions (that often get me into trouble) because focus was not automatically assigned to the “To” box when the compose mail window opened.

Obviously this isn’t an issue if you right-click on a party member and select the option to send them mail. But I often want to send mail to someone who isn’t currently in my party. I also find it quicker to start typing their name and have it auto-complete rather than searching for them in the guild list.

It seems like a simple change to set focus to the “To” box on the “Compose New” window when it is opened. I believe it could save players a lot of grief!

Auto-completion works for account names, eg nim.9364. Then my friend gets it on whoever character he/she is on at that moment.

Yes, auto-completion is working well – that wasn’t the subject of my suggestion.

I proposed that the “compose new” window should open with focus set on the “To” field so that users may immediately start typing without having to click on the field first. It is something that the majority of other mail interfaces do and it is intuitively expected.
