Reaching the end of this game, i’ve realized that Anet has done worse than Blizzard’s Diablo 3 in terms of loot.

I can spend all day doing dungeons and farming and find nothing worth any value. Even blizzard notice that having a end game with low drop chance on items is a bad game design.

Spending large amounts of time attempting to hunt items with no avail is turning me further and further away from the game…

Not even remotely similar. Someone did math on the D3 forum once showing that to get a 1% chance for a max stat item to drop would take like everyone on the earth farming 8 hours a day for years.

Yeah, I’m sure they’ll just have to cry all the way to the bank then since you still contributed to their game/gave them money for all the time it took for you to get to the point where you can complain.

Not sure what you consider “valuable” if its exotics only then lol gl farming it from drops.

I can usually get at least 1-2 yellows per dungeon run. Farming orr for an hour should easily give you about 1g+ with mats and equips even if all you get is blues.

Your point? If you were trying to insult me, you did a poor job. Your personal attacks do nothing but prove your inability to say anything constructive.

totally different scenario, while i agree more endgame loot in terms of variety is always nice. diablo 3 is gear dependent. you need it. gw 2 is not. i have a level 80 character with some lvl 40 accessories and no level 80 gear and he does just fine. im sure more end game items will arise but they arent nessecary like they are in d3 so it isnt an issue.

Wintersday is for the Charr, also Meatober.

The issue is not just equipment, but materials such as cores, lodestones, and crafting mats.

Increased drop rates just mean more terrible drops.

Even then, that would result in more overall gold.

Hey if you have fun with D3 then more power to you. I think it’s a terrible game and don’t see any similarities between it and GW2.

Its not about D3 being more fun. Its about how the game turned out based on its design. It received a lot of negative response because of it, and if you browse the forums for a few minutes you can see it in gw2 as well.

I did enjoy gw2, and I think the game has a lot of potential. I just believe that the game has fallen short of its predecessor.

I understand that gw1 has had a few expansions, but that is no excuse for not taking what was learned from gw1 and not applying it to gw2.

considering that exotics (aka top-stat items) are given away upon completion of certain maps, can be created via mystic forge, AND can be crafted, as well as being dropped by enemies, and they are all tradable, i don’t see the point.

i just made money with what i dropped, then spent 2g on each piece of my exotic armor.

I’m just hoping GW2 doesn’t take the Blizzard approach and make all those items, which took millions of grueling hours of farming to get, COMPLETELY obsolete with every drop of new content.
