Consistency in Item names
I have to agree that terminology in the game is more confusing than it needs to be. Different skins can share a name, similar/identical skins can be called several different things, and, as Vayne notes, something as simple as armor class is difficult to determine without careful inspection of each item’s description.
Although I would love to see someone with OCD review the game’s nomenclature and clean it up, I imagine this might take a while (even if ANet agrees its a good idea).
In the meantime, perhaps the devs could visually distinguish the different classes of armor, e.g. using different color text, different font families/styles/sizes, or different colors for the icons.
Yep one of my problems is color blindness, so I don’t always see red text, at least not easily. If I had I’d never have made the mistake. Spending 180 tokens on light armor I can’t use that’s soulbound..I mean why even let a heavy armor wearer buy light armor that’s soulbound on acquire. So he can salvage it? He can salvage heavy armor too.
The worst part of it was that the names were exactly the same for all three armor types, and there were multiple types of each.
Obviously I’ll be more careful next time, but it’s not a great feeling when it happens.
I just did the same with “Orrian Reward Breastplate” (medium) for my guardian… I was after “Orrian Breastplate”, go figure… Goodbye 310 shards of zhaitan and around 10 hours worth of dungeon time with it… :’(
Nar: I love that it will take me time and money to
reach the same level I’m at right now… …said no one, ever.
