So it is known that the Biography choices for Human regarding their God and the Norn choice of a Spirit have little to no affect on the game.
Obviously these choices were meant to affect their Elite Skills if you read the last paragraph of their pages on the Guild Wars 2 website:
Human
Norn
I believe they changed this before release so that people didn’t feel cheated if they didn’t like their choice in-game and also to make PVP and WvW even.

But perhaps there are some options to make these Biography Choices have some affect in-game. Obviously these can’t be game changing or permanent changes that people will ‘regret’ the entire game with that character.

Human:
- In storyline missions that have large battles you will have a priest of your Order in the battle. The profession of the Priest will be one commonly associated with their God:
Balthazar: Warrior
Dwayna: Elementalist (Water Attunement)
Grenth: Necromancer
Kormir: Guardian
Lyssa: Mesmer
Melandru: Ranger (Fern Hound pet)

- Or if your character kneels in-front of statues or talks to priests of your specific order they get Swiftness for 4 minutes and an appropriate boon for 1 minute
Balthazar: Might
Dwayna: Regen
Grenth: Might
Kormir: Stability
Lyssa: Protection
Melandru: Regen

- Or skills associated with your God are cheaper: (discount varies on initial cost, tier and the tier progression benefit the skills provide.)
Prayer to Komir would be instantly available when Utility skills first unlock.
Prayer to Dwayna would cost 1 point instead of 3.
Prayer to Lyssa would cost 1 point instead of 3.
Avatar of Melandru would cost 5 instead of 10.
Reaper of Grenth would cost 5 instead of 10.
Hounds of Balthazar would cost 20 instead of 30.

Norn
- Make the Spirit Form relating to your choice 5 skill points cheaper.

- Or wild animals related to your Spirit (Bear, Wolf, Leopard) are initially neutral towards your character and pets instead of hostile. In the case of Raven, whenever you attack an animal (not monster or humanoid creature) a nearby bird will use the “Call Owl” ability once.

- Or Shrines of your Spirit give you a Swiftness boon for 4 minute and an appropriate boon for 1 minute:
Bear: Might
Leopard: Fury
Raven: Protection
Wolf: Regen

They mentioned that Charm, Ferocity, and Dignity were going to have meaning in the game later on. Maybe personal choices in the story will too.

Later on? You mean in an expansion? That seems like a bit of a rip off that they would add essential content and get s to pay extra to activate it.
