Something on the UI that you can place some consumables on and use them with a click instead of having to open the inventory, search for the right consumable and double click it.

Better idea, Up to 4 side slots for inventory utilities.

You can set up food, potions and minipets.

And also toggable hide, so you dont have to see empty slots when you arent using any.

Would be nice not having to resize my inventory as a makeshift quickbar…

Why only consumables?
I’m pretty sure, some elementalist would love to put his spare staff into such a bar for quick weapon swapping purposes

Weapon swapping as you suggested can only take place out of combat.
Something this Quickbar suggestion is not meant for. Its meant to provide In combat support.
