So I saw a thread about people abusing the kick player feature for dungeons and fotm to prevent a stranger in a pug from getting the end chest by kicking them and inviting their friends for the end chest instead. The main reason I can see for kicking someone is being inactive. Being inactive purposefully as a means to troll isn’t profitable while abusing the current system is. A system more complex to prevent both would be ideal, such as the reported player has 10 seconds to contest being kicked and needs to meet certain parameters in order for the group to vote to kick him/her again. If they meet those parameters such as being inactive and not staying with the group and not using skills when with the group then the next vote can’t be contested. Just a rough though.

It’s an idea. People would find a way to abuse it though (both ways). I don’t really understand why people do this kind of thing.

Maybe one of the parameters could depend on how long the person’s been with the group, or maybe you don’t get access to the chest (or get crappier rewards) if you weren’t with the team at the start.

Why not just make it so that you can’t kick unless that player has been out of combat for 5 minutes OR a unanimous vote.

Unanimous vote is so that the player doesn’t just perma-combat to avoid getting kicked.

Of course, a guild of 4 players could still kick, but that’s why you

  • don’t kitten off everyone in the party.
  • don’t play with 4 people in the same guild.

Or also add a vote kick report option to players who have been kicked to report players who’ve kicked them for the reasons aforementioned above. And also if the party reaches near the end where the chest is, kicking could be disabled when reaching that point or half way through the map (whichever), unless the player goes inactive for a few minutes, then the kicking permission is enabled again.

I dont really know how the vote system works now, but yous till need another party member to vote for the kick now.
The idea is great, problem is that it wont really solve anything. Why not just make a reason for the kicking, if the guy have been afk for to long/dc, it will enable the kicking.

How about kicking someone boots them into a private instance. If they are booted anywhere near the chest. They can still get it.

Put a timer on the private instance, so AFK people get booted out of that too.

Most of the time, the kick will occur before the final boss is done.

IF it was possible to make another copy of the instance for a kicked player (and that’s a big IF), they could then add their own friends or whatever to finish off the boss. The obvious problem is that you could abuse that system infinitely, sooo it’s not gonna happen.
