Dungeon(s) not meant to be completed in 1-sitting & resets at the end of the week. Has a set loot table per boss & challenging/fun. Maybe 8 player setup so we can have some split team mechanics to boss fights instead of everyone just zerging on the boss (and not just anti-melee/spam aoe type fights).

When I started FoTm I heard of the different levels & was excited… Only to discover its just a matter of doing the dungeon repeatedly to “level up” in order to reach high enough level to obtain decent loot. Seems pretty dull, I don’t even bother doing fractals as a result & yea that’s my personal choice but why should I have to do the same dungeon 10+ times just to start getting loot that’s not a bag?

Okay so I gave it some more thought how about scalable dungeon 5-10 player; 10 players = optimal loot possible but more challenging. This way still possible to complete just not optimal.

Your talking about a raid instance, like the ones in World of Warcraft.

My 2 cents to this idea: Please do not put something like this in this game. Instead provide us with DE’s that brings the lore of GW2 into the forefront for PVE.

Don’t you think dungeons have enough lore as is and where would these DE (dynamic Events) be placed? all zones are pretty packed with DEs as is. The current dungeons are all super short & quickly become oudated. Some of us just sit around LA with nothing to do cause we’ve alrdy gotten the tokens we want from the 5-20min dungeons they have currently.

Yes there are tons of lore in DE’s and in dungeons. What i mean is make it MORE evident. The current state of the lore in-game is that you have to look for it.

The reason why i don’t like the idea of a raid instance is that it usually comes with that one other thing that everyone in this game hates: GEAR GRIND.

Have you read how much kittening there was in these forums when they introduced fractals and ascended gear?

And besides, Anet did promise us a no grind game (it’s a matter of opinion in some cases) so adding something like a raid instance with a gear grind (if it does come with a gear grind) is counter to that philosophy.

I don’t see the issue with fotm as ascended gear is limited and you can buy pretty much all except back piece from the laurel vendor. It also takes all ascended pieces to see the slight stat increase, 1-2 pieces aren’t that strong.

The issue im having is longevity… unless you’re going for legendary/fotm bragging rights/fotm skins everything is rather short & takes about 1-2 months and you’re done unless you happen to like every skin in the game. Obviously some have been playing since launch so this isn’t the case for all, but I’ve watched my guild members lose interest, myself & my friend are losing interest. Guild missions screw smaller guilds (we have roughly 8-15 active on a busy night) Also guild missions aren’t very attractive. Perhaps it’s getting to that point where I will move on shortly. It’s been a good month the game has provided me with but when you start making alts after a month, cuz you have nothing to do on your main, that says a lot.

Saw your post in another thread a out no gear grind. And I agree that this game does need a lot more pull.

Right now, the only self implimented goal i have is to level alts in all five races and deck them out in ascended and exotic gear.

Again, I whole heartedly agree with you that this game need more pull (the pull for me in any MMO is the lore, hence the suggestion) but in my opinion, a raid instance is not the answer.

The only thing that i can think of are events like lost shores, halloween, and wintersday but only grander in scale, MORE presistent and VERY continious.

So you want to play Wow. That game already exists

Please no raids in GW2, FotM is already too hardcore for the majority.

I think you should try Guild Missions. I’ve tried Bounty so far and it’s pretty close to what you describe. Although the bounty missions are not strictly about boss mechanics but rather splitting and coordinating your team.

HiddenNick – I probably should.

marnick – You’re right, I may have to go back to WoW, I’ve pretty much completed this game in 1.5 months. I guess I don’t play casually enough, it doesn’t offer much for players who are used to more challenge.

GW2 – great for casuals, short lived for non-casuals.

Thank you for confirming that GW2 is indeed a very casual friendly game. I think the devs should feel justified that they made a game according to what they said it would be.
