Why not add cosmetic mounts. Obviously mounts are for looks, but even then, screw the movement speed, what about just having a mount for the looks.

Imagine riding a horse without the speed boost, I would LOVE that. It would add a whole new dimension to rewarding players. It’s like mini pets BUT PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARE. Why? Because you’re riding it around, it’s not a little pet on the ground no one can see or cares about.

Allow PvP-only mounts that can be used in PvE and WvW as well. Like I said, no movement boost, just for the looks.

How amusing, I haven’t come around here for nine months and there’s still people asking for this.

They have already added one strictly cosmetic mount, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more.

No mounts. I refuse to search for a hidden merchant underneath someone’s ape-lizard-with-a-wingspan-of-seven-sleeping-Norns. No. Just NO! Those stoners who were too lazy to demount when speaking to an npc ruined it for you guys. Deal with it.

The witch’s broom, and the digging tool in a way (underground mount?). I am definitely for cosmetic mounts.

Truth be told, I’d love combat mounts too! With so much grindy content being added for lovers of that other mmo, I’m surprised mounts aren’t already in the game.

The world is just too small for mounts. No, it just wouldn’t fit.

I personally don’t like mounts. They’re big, and if no speed boots – makes your character looks like running alot slower.

i think its more realistic than a tiny human walking next to you (mini), but thats just me

I’d love mounts. The world is big enough for them, it’s something else to collect, and it’s relaxing to ride through a world. We’ve already had two released and it didn’t break things. <3

NPCs talk about horses like they exist, they’re mentioned in the books as well, (you see undead ones in GW1 as well) it’s just a running gag that there aren’t any objects.

I don’t think we will see mounts, unfortunately. They could have made tons of money with mounts, but for some odd reason they designed the world in a way that made mounts almost useless.

I would still like it to even ride around the city, but it won’t happen.

Well, we do have a couple and it didn’t cause a crisis, so hopefully that was just a test for a possible future iteration on it.

The only thing I miss from WoW is my mounts. Not big stuff, but like my mechano-hog. I miss it more than ever now that my main sword is twilight and not the greatsaw, whose aesthetic is almost identical. T^T

I say no because horses or whatever beast would cause problems at vendors and other NPCs for others trying to access said NPCs by these said mounts obscuring the NPCs.

This belongs in the suggestions forums where it can be properly addressed in the same manner it is being addressed here. Of all the people playing this game, only 1% want mounts, and they want them for stupid reasons. We have enough means of transportation in this game, and sitting on a stupid horse/chicken/whatever for the sake of sitting on something for “cosmetic reasons” is absolutely a waste of players, developers, YOUR time.

Okay, lemme rephrase that: Have you ever seen a horse that wasn’t previously dead at some point?

Add a mount to travel without combat slowdown in pve areas. No extra speed buff, or advantage is needed. You won’t be able to fight on mounts ofc.

Second, no, just no.
There are already issues with rendering 80 (or 40, 100, etc) players on the screen, now you want to render 160? 80 layers AND 80 mounts?

I had to read this statement a couple times to make sure I wasn’t missing something. It’s very silly.

I’ve seen mounts in other MMOs. They always try to add cooler and cooler mounts. It always ends up the same, it becomes sillier and sillier. So normally I would be against this. But since we already have wings, fake Norn ’staches, 16bit weapons and other things…wth, go for it, aesthetic of the game is already ruined.

Just roll in Charr battle technology… I want a steampunk wasteland chopper bike
