So I’ve had this idea for a while for GW and I’d like some feed back. As much as I love GW I find Crafting to a bit lacking, it’s great to make your own stuff with stats you want, its great you get Exp for doing it, and the discovery system is great, but I feel like it’s lacking.
So here is my suggestion/idea, like how a Character has their Personal Story, why not create a set of missions/quests based around crafting and become a true master of the trade. It could have rewards for new kinds of recipes, rare crafting materials, karma, experience ect.
Of course this is a new way to add a different storyline, new npc characters and of course new crafts.
Now, I’m sure I’ll get a lot of disagreement from people on this, but I have never been a fan of how people usually just buy items to complete quests in other games. So to prevent this a system to create a “Tag” or “Signature” on an item that is crafted by a player, or looted from enemies to that character. Once the item is traded or sold the “Tag”/"Signature is deleted, and is not usable for the quest.
I would like some feed back on how this could be a better idea, as I"m writing this just after work.
