Crafting is so lackluster and pretty much useless unless you are making food or ascended gear.

The best way to revamp the crafting system is to allow players to craft various armor and weapon skins apart from the ones you can already craft.

This could include making dungeon armor skins through using lodestones as a material. Even priory, vigil, and whisper armor could be crafted.

They would also need to be able to apply to existing armor without having to use a transmutation crystal. Why? Because the amount of time spent would take longer than farming gold then exchanging it for gems and then getting the crystal.

I like the idea of crafting skins.

I don’t think they should be dungeon skins though (unless you need that 200 token thing to craft a piece; it still shows you’ve done the dungeon then).

As well as crafting skins, what about being able to re-stat and item?

Item + Inscription + Dark Matter + Some Dust = Restatted item to that Inscription’s Stats (material requirements just an example)

Life is a journey.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.

It sounds like a good idea, but really you can already craft armor pieces and weapons which have a variety of looks and then use a transmutation stone on them. All that you’re suggesting is really to eliminate the need for a transmutation stone. Plus you shouldn’t be able to craft any skin of a prestige earned items like dungeon armor or precursor/legendaries otherwise you render obtaining them useless. I’d just rather see a recipe to convert regular transmutation stones into fine transmutation stones so they would have purpose. As for revamping the crafting, I think we just need more armor skins which is already on the way with the ascended armor and is already here with the ascended weapons.

I like the restat option proposed by TheDaiBish. Seems reasonable.
