Crit Chance Is To Random No Skill

I think you’re probably going to have trouble getting people behind you on this one.
Even then, removing critical hits would require replacing both critical chance and critical damage stats, which would be quite a bit more complicated even than removing Magic Find was, since a lot more things influence it and are influenced by it, including weapon upgrades and traits that activate on critical hits.

First off all, I dont see what you are expecting.
a: bumping is not allowed (so if thats what you did, shame on you )
b: Anet doesn’t respond to suggestions. They (claim to) read them all, but almost never respond.
c: reactions from other players are either negative (people hate the idea) or positive. No reactions often means people ‘meh, I dont care’ bout it.
Having said that I am personally against this suggestion. For the content itself, I amĀ“Meh, i dont care’ . The reason is that on average you still do a certain amount of damage. You can use precission and critical damage to be more depending on this, but once that is set you do on average a certain amount of damage. So for me this means im not bothered by the mechanic at all.
However, taking away the mechanic means that every single foe in the game has to be re-designed. This for the simple reason that we all do critical damage. taking it away we deal less damage and every mob and every dungeon becomes unbalanced. The result is that the devs are putting lots of time and effort into something I’m ‘meh’ bout. They better put in into more important things.

I would just rather have PVP determined all by skill .. Not skill and random rolling dice i.e Critical Chance/Critical Damage.

The build you choose to create is part of the skill that is required to beat your opponent. If you take 2 players with identical builds, then skill will usually still separate the winner from the loser. Sure you might have some instances where your opponent gets a few more lucky critical hits, but odds are you’ll both crit equally over so many fights against each other. You can also customize your build to maybe sacrifice critical chances in favor of your toughness. Maybe he’ll get more crits on you, but you might be tough enough to take them and still use your skill to outlast him. As was said previously, changing this at this point in the game would require much more effort than any benefit it would create, if any.

Not sure about sPvP and WvW roamers, but in PvE fights that matter and WvW zergs, there’s usually enough attacks going off per battle that the critical hit rate balances out.

I’m not debating that critical chance is or is not a form of luck, because as a ‘chance’ it’s quite obvious that it is. The point I was making is that with equal builds, skill will usually win out over luck. Just because there is some luck stats in the game that doesn’t mean that the less skilled players will have a better chance than the skilled players. In fact, I’d wager my money on skill players every time over the lesser skilled players no matter how much luck that they had.
