I wish Anet would put a criteria in place to aquire the Commander title other than just purchase it for 100G. They have ranking system in place and also achievements for WvW. I would like to see them implement something along the lines of having to defend x number of keeps, camps, dolyaks. Use and build x number of siege equipment. Capture x number of camps, keeps and kill dolyaks. Acquire rank x before they can purchase Commander title. If they are looking to implement a PVE Commander the same standards could be put in place then give the PVE and WvW Commander different color icons. This would make it easier to follow those Commanders that actually know what they are doing instead of spoiled brats with mom’s credit card.

I disagree: half our commanders wouldn’t meet half of these requirements… :-P

And the commander title is also useful for none-wvw reasons. It helps when organising events, or when leading a large group of guildies into an explorable.

I agree sometimes when i want to capture places with a zerg I end up running around the map. We have some NOOB commanders who just got 100g and bought the book. I think being a commander should be a reward for your achievements not just CoF grind. I think there should be rank cap from now on to become a commander, but it’s already impossible since so many people got commander title

I agree with this- most of the commanders it seems just get the title to flash it around in PvE, not actually doing anything in WvW – Or atleast they’d have to show me differently.

Maybe have it turned off when they enter PvE, since they’re not commanding anything.
