Hi all,

I’d like to suggest that it be possible to use transmutation stones to allow a male character to wear female-oriented armour pieces, and vice-versa.

I don’t mind if it is made very expensive to do this (for example, combine twenty transmutation stones to create a heteromorphic transmutation stone), but I think the option would be beneficial for two very clear reasons:

1. Female characters who wanted a more professional, capable or powerful appearance could make use of male armour pieces which are generally highly conservative; and
2. Male characters who wanted a more sexy, revealing or playful appearance could make use of female armour pieces which are generally highly sexualised.

Personally, I’d love to wear some of the more exotic and adult-oriented armour sets designed for female characters on my guy. Some of the female legging pieces can be quite playful I think, but the equivalent male version is completely sterile by comparison. Why can’t I flash a bit of thigh or chest if the girls can do it?

I doubt there would need to be too many modifications to the models themselves as surely the only major difference for most races is in the chest area, and any curving bra points could be simply mapped to equivalent points on the male chest.

Anyway, it’s just a thought that I think would be fun, and open up the armour options quite a bit for everyone.

Ha, I surprise myself liking this idea! For the charr this would be useless, though, as they share the same armors anyways.

Both Charr and Asura only get equivalents to the male armors. Which is a bit of a pity.

Im for it, another thing I would like to see is cross type transmutes, like give the look of light armor to the stats of heavy armor and have its type be heavy so warriors could look nice instead of being in bulky armor

I luaghed and was pleased by this idea! It’d double the available armour skins for players, solve most gender imbalances in armour, be a grand step in the right direction for gender stereotypes, and be very news worthy across the MMO world (and outside it).

I think its a great Idea, but the problem is, the way armor is made traditionally is, X type armor made 8 times for the different races and 2 genders per race. its not like they stretch the skin over the body no matter what shape the body is in, each set of made for each race and each gender of that race.

soo to make the female sets available to the males they would have to remake all the females set for the male of each race. and all the male sets for the female of each race. in essence each set of gear would have to have 16 different versions to fit both genders and all 4 races.

- There are 5 races, not 4.
– Norn, Human and Sylvari bodies are so close together than I think they use identical armor models, with the only difference being size.
– Charr and Asura don’t have gender differences in their armor. All their armor is just the male armor reshaped for their body shape, except for cultural armor.

So for the male armors ANET just need to make one new model per armor, and that’s just to adjust breast size.

For female armors, the need to make 3 new models. One for male human/norn/sylvari, one for Asura, one for Charr.

I’d also love to see being able to transmute light armor to look like heavy armor and vice versa.
