Culling features fine tuning
I second what the OP has said. I have been playing with friendly nameplates turned off and enemy nameplates turned on since launch. This allowed me to enjoy the world and easily target enemies:
The new culling system is now littering my screen with floating nameplates from characters that aren’t being rendered and I can’t see the enemies in large events.
pls as stated above, u gave us the option to turn name plates on or off. i play with them off so i can see the game, seeing a sea of players names is just annoying, it causes my card to work over time for nothing,. if players want name plates u already put that option in the game from the start, now were being forced to see name plates, and for what.???
who ever came up with the idea to do this to "improve " the game should be fired . because they are not working in your favor, if anything this is one of the things that is a HUGE turn off. if i wanted to see a sea of name tags i can turn the option on. but i dont. so pls undo that part of the patch and give US the players the option to chose what we want to see.
+1
I like culling off a great deal, but seeing a sea of turquoise names on the horizon is ugly and annoying. I turned them off for a reason.
P.S. Culling the players was never really my issue, I need to see enemies….
I just wanted to add a screenshot so the devs can see what we’re talking about. As you can see, it’s actually not possible to even see the boss underneath all those nameplates!
Note that I have nameplates turned OFF, and these are only the nameplates of the invisible players that the new culling system forcefully renders!
Here’s what you’ve done to Lion’s Arch. Again, player nameplates option set to off, only the nameplates of those who are invisible are being rendered from your new system.
This has effectively ruined my experience with the game.
I agree with this, really spoils the environment – especially so in cities where there is a lot of npcs.
