Ok , so after reading through 15 layers of kitten , i think it’s safe to say the new content is getting on the nerves of a lot of people .

Though a lot of the crying doesn’t really make sense , there’s some things that can/should be changed to better the gaming experience for everyone .

So i’ll try to point out some problems and possible fixes . Plz refrain yourself from flaming/trolling/whatever cuz i won’t really feed any of you .

Precursor Problem

A lot has been said about the precursor over the weeks , complaints about the droprate being a joke and how RNG shouldn’t be in it , etc etc

Anet decides to ease up the thing for now by including them in the final chest for Lost Shores and guess what … People cry anyway because it was like a precursor galore .

First off , at least on the server i was in , i didn’t see more than maybe 8/9 precursors being pinged ( if even that ) . So in hundreds of players there , how is that 15% or even 10 % as some guys are whining about ?

Also they got one ? good for them , but don’t you be fool enough to believe someone actually got 300 gold for a precursor , simply because no one was offering 300 gold in the first place . People was just trying to sell them at that price , and that is why prices dropped so much .

But still , let’s say he sold it for like 150gold ( wich i don’t really believe because prices drop because there’s more to sell , not more people buying ) , it’s still 100 gold cheaper than it was . So if you were about to spend 200+ or even 300 for a precursor you now spend 100/150 less .

So he gets 150/200 gold , and you save 100/150 gold . Is 50 gold THAT much of a difference to be crying at the forums for ?

Ascended Items

I have to agree at SOME of the flame about this . It’s true that Anet stated that no gear treadmill was intended , and in a way this may be the start of something bad .

But to be honest , it isn’t ( for now ) THAT much of a deal so far. Ascended items have more stats than Exotics , but Exotics have better stats than Rares , and if you can’t complete pretty much anything in the game besides high level fractals with a rare set , then it’s more on your lack of skill than it is about the gear itself .

I understand that more stats = more effectiveness , but it isn’t as much as people are making of it , and so far it is useful , but not " omg i have to get this or i’ll be obsolete " .

Apart from lvl 10+ fractals it’s not important if you have it or not .

I can agree with the flaming if Anet decides to make ascended-dependant content or another set that has more stats ( gear treadmill ) in the future , but for now it’s just sheer kittenedness to whine about 1 more rarity level .

Fractals of the Mists

This is my only real concern about the new content . Even though i like the concept of the dungeon ( difficulty scaling and whatnot ) , i see that it goes against how a few of the things in the game should be .

The level lock is really preventing a lot of people from getting into it and it should be revised . I don’t have trouble myself , but i see people ( usually at level 1 or 2 ) for quite a while spamming LA lfg .

Also there’s not really any motivation to do other dungeons because there’s more to win in fractals than in any other dungeon , making finding a team for any other place impossible .

So my idea to fix most of these problems would be :

Leave ascended items with the base stats as they are now , but infusion working in a different way ( maybe similar to what lightbringer had in GW1 ) , buffing players or debuffing enemies . That way it would be useful , but not mandatory .

Remove the level requirement and implement some sort of buffs for repeating the dungeon multiple times , making it harder and boosting something like magic find . Also getting more tokens the more times you repeat it .

Remove lodestone/core drop and make those buyable from every dungeon with tokens ( as it already have been suggested ) , making people run the dungeons they like/feel more comfortable with and still be able to progress on their legendary .
Also make other bags also available to purchase with dungeon tokens.

Karma

So now we all have a kittenton of Karma and nowhere to spend it on , why not include some more items to be bought with karma ?

After an armor and the shards , there’s no decent place to spend it on . Also buff the rewards on temple events so that people feel tempted to do them more often.

It’s saddening to see Balthazar temple perma-contested and no one being able to get shards with the bazillions of karma that we now have .

TL;DR

The biggest problem imo are the players themselves that force themselves to mindless grinding instead of enjoying the game . That’s why Plinx was so popular , not because there was nowhere to farm , but because it was fast . And people don’t realize that legendaries should be a long term goal and not a “i need to farm all-day to have it faster than everyone” .
Everyone loves the shinies , but neither should them be kitten easy to get or persued like it was the only thing to play for .

I agree that Anet should make some changes , because the way it is now , it’s just clumping up the whole playerbase into one single place to farm . Not because it’s the only place to , but simply because even if you want to do anything else you can’t .
