can we please have an option to turn off certain elements of the user interface?

Right now the only option is to toggle the entire thing off. I just want a more minimal UI and have only the critical information I need while still being immersed in the game world without the extra clutter of extraneous UI elements.

I want to:

Get rid of the quest text on the right side

Hide the experience bar
hide the mini map
hide the party members panel
hide all nameplates except target

this seems simple enough to program in the next patch. Is that too must ask?

They did it in GW1; no reason why they shouldn’t be able to do the same in GW2. If they want us watching the game world rather than the UI – as was stated in their marketing pitch – you’d think they’d want to give us the ability to turn off UI elements.

Of course, it may be those UI elements (e.g. quest text) are used to drive players to the bi-weekly Living Story content and associated latest additions to the gem store. Nah, that can’t be it; that’s crazy, tin-foil-hat, conspiracy theory talk, right?

All I want is for the small UI setting to not corrupt the text in the TP window.
