So without fail i do the daily everyday…thanks for the karma jugs btw it was an awesome addition to the daily. Whoever implemented that needs a raise in my honest opinion. But I notice every now an then i get like a black lion market summon thingy merbobber. Is that random? And if not…any chance to implement the daily so if you do it 1 day or 1 week straight you get the normal stuff, 2nd day or second week straight you get something a little better, third day or third week straight you get something a lot better and so on and so forth, then it resets and you gotta start all over.

ANet just needs to make one change to the Dailies (and Monthlies) and I will love them forever.

Daily: Add 1 Black Lion Key to the rewards.
Monthly: Add 5 – 10 Black Lion Keys to the rewards.

There’s a possibility for a random additional item

The thing is, your suggestion would cause issues between the more dedicated and the less dedicated players. And that has always been one of the things this game has tried to avoid.

And what counts as a lot better? Are we talking extra karma jugs? Higher chance to get the random additional item? More Mystic Coins? Possibility to gain more than one additional item? Guaranteed additional items? More coins?

If they did that, no one would have any reason to buy the keys from the Gem Store. And since people have already spent RL money to buy those keys, it would cause a kittentorm. Something like that either has to be implemented from Day 1 or not at all. Of course, putting the keys into the Gem Store in the first place was a rather bad choice. But what’s done is done.

could be anything from a random piece of armor, to materials, to weapons, to stuff you’d get off the TP…who knows maybe even implementing such a system will encourage people to come back an play for a little bit and end up staying on for longer periods of time.

I don’t believe so. There’s far, FAR more BLCs in the game than there are keys; during an evening of play, it’s common for me to get at least 3 or 4 BLC’s. I used/sold all of my BLC’s during Halloween, and I’m already back up to 50+ of them sitting in storage!

Furthermore, the thing about RNG items is that as long as the opportunity exists for someone to “pull the lever”, players will do it. People love the feeling of trying their luck. It’s the same reason why we love opening chests, to find out what’s inside.

So no, all this change would do is make a dent in the vast number of BLC’s currently available in the game. I’ll grant that it would upset people who already spent RL money on gems for keys, but then again, that was their decision. They could have used in-game gold to buy gems instead (and I’m speaking from the standpoint of somebody who DID buy gems with real money, although I spent them on extra bank/bag slots instead of keys).
