Shadow infusion</strong>
This trait functionality has been changed to “Gain initiative when you enter stealth.” 2 init.
Problem<em>: Please refer to “Increased the base rate of initiative gain from .75/second to 1/second.” “Acrobatics IX – Quick Recovery. Reduced initiative gain from 2 to 1.” The nerf is too great that not only prevent thief to be in permanent invisible, it prevent d/p thief to do a proper fight, such that shadow shot use up to 4 initiative & black power use 6 initiative. After a single engagement a thief will basically use up all their initiative and forced to retreat. In that sense, as Anet mention Hard to catch can be put up into use. and finally stay in combat without Shadow infusion & initiative to combo.
To be improved: <em> d/d or d/p thief required shadow infusion to do combo skill, hence the nerf should change to “gain initiative when stealth is granted” 1 init. The rest of the changes can be kept. This can definitely prevent thief to do permanent invisible but combat ability still remain.
Most importantly </strong>
After changes, <em> Please try to use d/p thief to fight against a buffed good engineer, elementalist, or a mesmer player, d/p thief don’t stand a chance without invi to maneuver the fight, no condition removal, no health regeneration, no stealth. Anet, please put that into a test, if you disagreed what i just said. Don’t fight your developer, try to fight some good player in the game, then you will get what i mean.

I think you’re making too much of an issue out of it.

Yes, it makes D/P permastealth impossible. That’s a good thing, because permastealth effectively allows the thief to reset a battle as many times as they want.

In case you don’t realize it, the actual initiative regen is getting boosted. Currently, you have 0.75/s base, with a potential additional 3 every 10 seconds from Infiltrator’s Signet and Quick Recovery. That averages to 1.05 initiative/s.
With the change, you’re looking at 1.00/s base, with a potential additional 2 every 10 seconds from Infiltrator’s Signet and Quick Recovery. That averages to 1.2 initiative/s.

Also, Infusion of Shadow is not affected if you don’t chain your stealths. So if you’re actually using Backstab, which you should, it’s not going to change anything.
