Ok so since this is the suggestions part of the forums I’d like to point out this one tiny thing, which is the only thing that’s bugging me about Guild Wars 2. And that’s daily and monthly achievements actually giving achievement points. I loved it when I saw you put a cap on those two other repeatable achievements (Agent of Entropy and Hobby Dungeon Explorer). That really made the achievement points have some meaning in game at least to some degree. Like knowing if someone spent a lot of time in the game and has experience and of course leaderboards.

Now my plea is to remove dailies and monthlies giving achievement points. The rewards for doing those gives enough good stuff as it is. Or at least put a cap on them or something. I still remember how when you introduced the daily system where we could pick what we wanted to do dailies gave 25 achievement points upon completion. New players will never be able to make up for those lost achievement points cause they can be repeated endlessly and that’s a bit not fair in my opinion. Also the leaderboards. To me it kinda ruins the whole point of those with repeatable achievements.

I know that this is not a priority and this will probably never happen, but I had to put it here, cause it’s the only thing bugging me in the whole game.

Daily and Monthly achievement is the worst idea in this game.

And what would removing them achieve?

If two people have different amounts of achievement points and they do exactly the same things, the difference won’t go anywhere.

And the whole leaderboard thing was kinda screwed before it ever got to happen since we have people who’ve earned thousands of achievement points from salvaging. In comparison to that, the amount of achievement point you get from the dailies is tiny.

Yes.

I have 3700 achieve from daily/monthly, gl with salvaging.

In my opinion, locking the daily achievements when you receive your daily chest would be a good compromise between leaving them as they are and completely removing them.

I disagree with this. As others have stated, the problem with the leaderboards isn’t the daily/monthly achievements but rather the points that were exploited prior.

Awarding points for dailies and monthlies allows more casual players, such as myself, a chance to get achievement points even if I miss the big events. You can get a ton of achievement points from doing the Secrets of Southsun event, and comparable to the dailies/monthlies, it is much larger. For people who cannot make these events, or finish the events, the dailies and monthlies are another way to continue to get achieve points when all the others are eventually filled up.

From all event i have 769 achieve ( i have all ), from daily and monthly 3700. New gamers have 0% chance for leaderboards. Much people play, because want be the best but this game is not for them.

Thats just it, Anet is making it so that new players and people who might want to come and play this game if they put in an expansion will see this stuff will never have a chance at being on leaderboards or ever getting legendaries or anything like that cause of all the constant nerfing and capping, they don’t think about new players all they think about is the gem store.

Achievement from daily and monthly don’t have any plus.
From daily and monthly “only” Exp + Laurels + Karma and will be good.

There are leaderboards? I didn’t realize they were actually a thing you could look at. Where are they?

This is pretty much my premise. Now, if there were rewards that went along with being the top on leaderboards (like higher RNG, or something crazy) then I could understand why people who be pretty upset about this. Otherwise, it isn’t worth it. Everyone knows that the people at the top have likely exploited the achievement points early on in the game. I only look at WvW.

Yup, I found them. Totally useless. The PvP boards make no sense. The Acheivement boards serve no purpose accept to show me I have more points than my friends, but I already knew that.

The only interesting one is the WvW board, which is only interesting because of the fact that the two RP servers are actually in third and fourth place, which is pretty cool concidering.
