I’m just coming back after an absence from GW2. When I played right after launch completing the dailies was one of my favorite activities. They were varied enough that I got to a bit of everything and I could do it with only logging in for an hour or two a night.

Not anymore. It seems that even though there is a separate category for Daily PvP Achievements, most days I can’t put together 5 achievements from the list that don’t require PvP. I don’t PvP and I’ve read in several places that ArenaNet spokespeople have said most players play only PvE. So why do PvP have not only a PvP Daily Achievement, but the plain vanilla Daily Achievement also requires PVP?

If this has been talked to death, please excuse me. I could not get anything to happen when I used the search form — I could type in it, but I couldn’t get it to actually activate and provide search results.

I don’t seem to understand what you’re trying to say here…
PvP and PvE Daily Achievements have been split into their own separate categories, meaning that doing one from one category should not affect the other, or am I wrong?
If I am, and since you don’t like to take part in PvP, then there shouldn’t be any reason for you to be doing the PvP Daily…

Also, the PvE Daily doesn’t take that much time to do. It could be considered busy work on certain days, but they’re still never a complicated thing to accomplish.

There are listings under achievements for both “Daily” and “PvP Daily”. In the last 5 days, at least, quite a few of the daily achievements you could choose from for the supposedly PVE daily take place in The Mists, which according to the Wiki, is the staging area for PvP.

On only one of those 5 days was I able to select 5 achievements which were completely PvE. Well, let me be frank — there was an option for “Activities” which I could not find out constitutes an “Activity”. I believe that all 5 days I could have completed the “Activities” IF I knew what they were.

I still stand by my statement that there should not be so many achievements accomplished in a PvP area listed under what is supposed to be PvE Dailies.

I don’t care about busy work. That’s not a problem, but don’t send me to a PvP area to do PvE. Thanks.

The Activities are things like Keg Brawl, Southsun Survival, Sanctum Sprint, etc. which technically is PvP since you are competing against other players. Theres also the 3 obligatory WvW achievements too,…also PvP.

After all that, there are always atleast 5 that are PvE only. There are almost always ones that involve gathering, doing a jumping puzzle, gaining skillpoints/levels, killing a cartain number/variety of creatures all over the place/in a certain zone, etc.

Never had an issue completing PvE dailies and I’ve never once done PvP or WvW.

there is ALWAYS the ption for at least 5 non-mists dailies, i should know, i never go into the mists, gathering is always there, some form of killing one (50 altogether or 40 from an area) most times there is events/sidekick – 5 events/4 from an area/5 events while down-levelled, sometimes there is veteran, sometimes champion/group events

I get the 5 dailies every single day and never do PvP. You don’t have to do all the dailies, only 5 of the many choices. Some keeners feel they must do every one, but really, each is only 1 AP, so who cares if you stick to the 5 to get your laurel and leave the rest?

You’re referring to the WvW Daily Achievements, which are mixed with PvE because the two game types overlap in what it is you can do in both. The only real difference is that in WvW you can kill other players. They’re fine where they are imo.
Though I still don’t see how you’re unable to complete your Daily Achievements without stepping foot inside WvW. I have never had to play in WvW to get a Daily done unless I’ve chosen to do so.

The “Activities” as pointed out by other posters are past mini-games, ArenaNet had released during holiday celebrations, which can be accessed by an NPC in Lion’s Arch. She stands near the bridge leading to the Asuran Portals that take you to the racial capitals.

There are never more than 3 WvW dailies out of the 10 available. That leaves 7 total to pick five out of.

I’ll admit there are several days in which I don’t really want to do some of them. But do you know what? Who cares. Wait a day and maybe the next group will be more to your liking. It costs you nothing to not do them.
