Daily Lotto in GW2?
A prize for logging in is the desp measure games add due to their worryingly shrinking population. GW2 has no such issue, why would it need to implement this?
I’d prefer to wean Anet off their gambling addiction. This seems a step in the wrong direction.
Eh here I thought you went with the obvious direction but you chose, as Randulf said, a desperate measure to get log ins.
I wouldn’t be against being able to purchase a lotto ticket for 50silver, one per day, and then each day there’s a drawing for the ticket number. Every 50 silver is added to the pot, 1 dungeon run is over 50 silver, it’d be easily accessible to everyone and still a solid addition. Limit the ticket, as I said, to 1 per day so even newbies have the same chance to profit, account bound.
1000 gems is a lot to be giving away every single day randomly to anyone that logs in. Plus it would seem like an act of desperation to get their population numbers up.
And with all the RNG “hate” going on right now, this is probably one of the worst things they could do.

That is way too much money to give away to one single person. What happens if 50,000 people buy tickets? would that one person get 25,000g?
Either it would have to be spread out among a whole bunch (hundreds) of people or it would have to be that that one person gets like a 1% payout from the pot (Which I think would be an extremely effective gold sink, which is never a bad idea.)

Yeah I thought about that too. You can make this a real effective goldsink. 50silver for a shot at like, 100 gold or something. Still, it could be helpful
Another grind featuring the RNG won’t solve any problem.
