Daily and Monthley

Am I really the only one who think this system would be good?

Like how they handled the holiday achievements? I liked those best. I didn’t do anything I didn’t want to do and I still ended up completing Mad King Emissary and Apprentice Toymaker. I’d love to see something like that for the monthlies.
The guild I’m in, we have a lot of older players who have problems with their motor co-ordination and who never will be able to do the jumping puzzles, therefore they will never be able to complete the holiday achievements or other achievements that include jumping puzzles.

You are thinking of Dailies in, literally, the exact opposite way you’re meant to use them. Its not meant to reward “your” play its meant to reward you playing outside what you normally do. If Anet introduces something, people will be less likely to try it over what they normally play.
EG: Why run a new dungeon? Fractals are right there? The answer? Cause the monthly says to try lots of different dungeons. So, you go try the dungeon out. It promotes variety.
again. it’s completely optional. don’t do it if you don’t like it.

ANet should spend less time trying to shoehorn players into things they aren’t interested in, and more time ensuring they are enjoying the things they are interested in. Leave the social engineering in the hands of the meddlesome politicians.
This is a business. The players are patrons. Don’t hand me a Cosmopolitan when I ask for a beer.

Lame argument, bordering on the obtuse.
The rewards are substantial enough to make completing them more than worthwhile. For some players who don’t play the game for 40 hours a week, the karma alone can equal days or weeks of DEs. That comes pretty close to necessity, or as least as close as anything can in a video game.
Great idea dude.
And make this list veryyyyyy long. So everyone can choose whatever he wants to do.
Sir you are genius.

I love this new mantra. It actually took effort to not automatically get the daily done before the change. Nearly everything required was something anyone in any facet of the game could complete during their normal game play. (Was anyone really unhappy with that system?) Suddenly that’s not the purpose of dailies at all, according to these people.
Now that they’ve added this nice little currency perk to it (in addition to the karma jugs that I didn’t see anyone complaining about before) people are using it as a justification to start forcing players into doing things they don’t want to do. The dailies were never about that before, why should they be now? Because you don’t want others to have nice things too soon? That’s the only justification I can think of for it.

Exactly! It have nothing to do with “someone” getting nicer stuff than me (eg. I’m fine with how the legendary weapons are required and hats of to those who get one, hard work most of them go through) it have something to do with that daily and monthly are a large part of the game, and please read my post again. There are some things that are difficult to for some people to do and as it is have been said, we are customers. “If you don’t like it then don’t do it” (if you don’t like it don’t play the game?) I’m not sure that is in the spirit of a gaming company or any company.
Players create communities and socializing systems, game companies can choose to back it up or not.
