"Damage Dealt" upon kill
This sounds like a DPS meter.
If that is the case, I will take the opportunity to duck and cover as the skritt hits the fan.
Often I’ve wondered how effective I was in a battle. How many of the damage dealt to the foe was my own. But I’d settle for simple percentages. Because DPS meters would lead down the road of elitism and build discrimination.
A player’s effectiveness after all, is not just measured by how much damage they dealt. What also matters is how much damage they took themselves. How many times did they go down, and were team mates forced to help them up? How often did they heal their team mates, or remove conditions on them? How many boons did they remove from an enemy? How often did they draw aggro from an enemy?
The moment something like a DPS meter is added, or anything that resembles one, people would evaluate each others combat effectiveness based on one very subjective statistic. I don’t want the game to go down that road.
