Daytime/Nightime in TYRIA + Weather cycle
There is already a day/night cycle with 5-minute transitions and weather patterns. It’s just alot faster than irl.
There’s no weather patterns as such. Certain areas are permanently raining/snowing whilst other areas are cloudy/sunny. A dynamic weather system would add to the atmosphere, IMO – for instance, occasional rain in Divinity’s Reach.
well those 5-minute transitions are really annoying
Not going to happen..
There is a reason Day/Night are on a short cycle.
Can you imagine how frustrating it would be if the only time you had to play Guild Wars was at night because you had a job with long hours and therefore never got to play in Tyria when it was nice and sunny…
Also, having it in sync with the server time means that there is only one small area of the world where day/night is occurring at the “correct” time, which means that to everyone else anywhere else in the world other than whatever part of America the server time is would find it insanely meaningless.
What they have now is good >.>
I am however all for more dynamic weather systems.
They do have it in place, I know that at Morgans Spiral it’s usually sunny but one or two times I’ve hung out there while it was raining and it was gorgeous. But I don’t think many parts of the world are set up to have weather and I would really like it if they added that later on.
Especially in areas like Gendarren Fields or Queensdale, I think they would be gorgeous while raining!
