Dear Anet, it’s the holiday seasons and I thought to myself, that I would like to gift a friend of mine some armor and weapons in game. However, I found that most of it turned out to be account bound or soulbound. I, in turn, proceeded to the forums to make a suggestion for possibly a gem store addition of some kind that de-bounded items. Or if there is a way to turn an account bound/soulbound item into one that could be freely gifted already; I would deeply appreciate any responses.

The idea of unbounding an item would make hackers drool in delight.

yup. would destroy the economy. gift them gems, they make that into gold for tradepost skins or use the gems to purchase the armor skins in the gemstore outright. Unbounding an item would be an epic disaster as it would be exploited like crazy…
Having said that, I’m not apposed to the ability to change Soulbound to Accountbound, but even that would be exploited but would not be profitable.
