I’m writing this post today to tell you a few things about your game. I really enjoyed the Beta weekends, the first one being the best. I was looking forward for the game to go live and finally have the time to sit down and really have the Guild Wars 2 experience.

Its been well over a month, since that first three day headstart. I’m level 80 and now scratching my head. What to do next? Is the constant question on my mind. But then it hits me, I would like to have the Flame Legion gear. Cant have that because my once a day run for Magg, (if i get one) is bugged. A real game killer there. Ok lets do Wvw!! No wait. I just run in and die because someone as full exotics. Then I remember watching a video from Arena net saying. Hey guys!!! gear doesn’t matter in our game!!. OH WAIT it does matter. A real let down, I was hoping Gear would be a LOOK not a “I win button” in Wvw or you need it just to complete a Dungeon.

Farming

Now farming, that’s something that was also meant to be a thing of the Past for MMo gaming right? You told us we didn’t need to farm, but crafting was going to a challenge. Its not a Challenge its a Farm fest, money hungry monster. Along with repairs, porting, Salvage kits and pretty much every single thing you do in Guild Wars 2 is going to cost you. Hell I cant get the coin I need to spend. I barely make 1g a day. And most of that gets spent on deaths. I also am starting to wonder.

This game is more PVP then PVE. Why? Because you get more a reward being head Stomped by 50 plays then by a Mob out in the world. Yes farming Karma at events is MEANT to be fun. But after 1 to 80 and beyond you start to wonder why am I doing this? Plus your need more then yourself in a Zone to do soo. Major flaw if everyone is doing Wvw or just not in the zone.

Then there is the TP, I stopped selling Items on it. Why you ask? because I spent more on items from the TP then selling items for a few measly copper on top of spending more to put the thing up in the first place. And YES the Bot and gold farmers are ruling the Tp so there is no way. I and other player are going to have anything. Let alone buy the parts for Legendary weapons.

On that note I would like to thank ArenaNet for posting that first Legendary weapon forging for all us to see and know. We will never have one. Because really? that’s what it feels like give the dog a bone then not give it to him. Yes it takes allot to make and I’m fine with that, but the main part to make it. I don’t think I’ll ever see it. Let alone have the coin to buy it from the TP.

Honestly I am really starting to think, Why did I buy this game? It feel like I have just voted for government again, just another guy in uniform giving me false since of hope in humanity that things are going to get better and our troops are coming home and the war is over.

That’s how I feel, just really let down. I loved the game you did well. But you really let yourself down in the end. I just hope, everything gets fixed and it no longer is a farm, grind fest. Oh well, at-least you made your money back because that’s all it feels like. No care in the world for a gamer voicing out.

Still no HOM ether after 36 days or more. All that work and getting friends to play Gw1 and GW2 was a waste of time and effort.

I agree… I’ve been 80 since the first week of release (I’m a fairly competent player, I just sadly chose Mesmer as my main characters profession). Why is it that now, I still haven’t gotten even 50g? I’m paying out the kitten and only floating around 10g… If I add up everything I’ve managed to accumulate and not spent any money ever, I’d maybe have 30g… Yes people, I’ve got really kitteny drop rate chances, so no, I’ve not found good drops worth TP’ing! Some people really are this unlucky!

Why is this? I get we aren’t meant to have 1k gold by the end of the first month, fair enough, but why not have 50g after travel and repairs? Why not have a bit more cash to spend? It’ll still take me another month to buy the Icy Runestones towards my Legendary or towards my commander title, that’s 2 months of gameplay, you think that by then I will have learned how to play WvW properly? You think MAYBE by then I can direct my Server mates? Or do we have to GRIND out another 10 months to make you happy? That’d be freakin’ absurd!

I’m hitting a point where I don’t want to log in! I can’t do what I want to do, and what I want is to be able to finish up getting my exotic rings, I want my exotic underwater gear (How do you even get an exotic underwater mask anyways?)… I want to work towards getting my Legendary (The gold for the rune stones isn’t the hard part, getting everything else together to make the Gifts is honestly harder, think about it! IE: Dusk is now 240g >_>) I’m not a bad player, I’ve got full berserkers and I can run Explorables pretty decently… I can PvP fairly well, I’ve managed to do 100% zone completion with very little help, and as I said, I was 80 within the first week, I did no zone completion till I was 80, I did no story either, hell, I only started and completed my story this week, within the last few days infact (Enjoyed it, really did! <3 Forgal (Aka, Grandpa or Colonel)

But seriously Arena Net… I love playing the game, but what the hell? I’m starting to think you want the game to collapse on itself!

Personally, I think much of the problems in the economy can be traced to the single worst thing going on: Unchecked botting.

I have literally seen a dozen or more identical characters running in circuits, reacting to nothing but attackable mobs. They’ve been reported, but they remain in-game for days at a time.

There are reasons why it is impossible to make any money providing resources or selling items on the TP — and it’s the bots.

They’re screwing up the gold/gem economy. The ‘fine’ items economy. And the resources economy. They’re breaking the game, because while some of us are trying to play honestly, they’re online 24/7 exploiting.

But seriously, ArenaNet: I walk into Harathi Highlands thinking to hunt some centaurs because I need cotton scraps for my tailor alt… and I see 15 almost identically named Ranger characters run by, all of them with brown bears, traveling in a synchronized circle. I report them, as have many others. I come back hours later and they are still there. I can come back a day or two later, and they are still there.

This is supposed to encourage me to play? In some zones, I strongly suspect the bots outnumber the actual players. Something has got to be done about them.
