I just think the prices are too high for both repairs and way-pointing. When I have to think about budgeting for way-pointing and repairs while I’m browsing the TP, there’s something wrong.
Back in the day games would make you drop your gear when you died. Gamers are getting soft.
Death of your character is a bad thing. You should avoid it. Stop crying about losing 3 silver for dying.

As many people have pointed out, Dying is a part of the game in GW2. If they make the concept so prevalent in the game, they should make it less penalizing.
If you want to avoid the waypoint cost on death, travel with friends. Short of a full wipe, you save yourself that much.
I’ve rezzed many random strangers that died, going out of my way to do so, because I saw the dead player mark on the map. Sadly, far many more have waypointed before I could make it to them.

The prices for both of these things are fine. The people who usually complain about waypoint prices are level 80 — who do not farm, which is what you should be doing at 80 anyway.
And like Fildydarie said, wait for a rez. If you die, chances are someone sees you and is headed to your direction. Most people instantly waypoint and do not let kind strangers aid them.
Also, you can always ask for a rez in map chat. There are plenty of ways to revive without paying for a waypoint.
I would usually go out of my way to run to a fallen player, if I notice the dead icon on map. I feel that players should just ask for help in map chat and I am sure a “kind hearted soul” will come to your aid.
