I think the game needs a decent karma sink. At the moment, Karma is one of the game currencies but it can hardly be used for anything. I’ve been playing for 4 months and I have about 700k of it pure + almost a thousand bottles. I did buy Karma armor for my character a couple of times already. Assuming I’ll use some of it to gear up my two baby characters when they reach 80, there still will be a ton of it left with nothing to spend it on, and the amount keeps growing.

I’m not a game macro-economist so I’m wary about suggesting something definite, but I think something should be done about it.

Karma salvage kits, 1 copper = 1 karma, they already have it for Crude and Fine, except it’s in Hoelbrak so it cost 2s x 2 to travel there and back from LA. I used to buy them until I got lazy and realized the central vendor in LA is fine. Let us buy every type of salvage kit with Karma, make it as easy to get to as the main trader in Trader’s Forum, LA.

Why are you paying to travel from LA to a race main city when you have the Asuran Gates that take you there for free?

Well, I’m using the gem salvage kit so I only need one with the highest (non-gem) percentage, which I forge when needed.

Well the karma sink is simple: Obsidian Shards

I have about 700 karma because I always use it all on Obsidian Shards for ascended crafting and legendary crafting. Though I agree that people not going that way are left alone with huge amount of karma. There should be more use to it.

It’s a universal currency, but it’s not liked enough currently.

We already need a lot of karma for ascended and legendary items. You can also convert karma to gold by crafting food that uses karma-based ingredients and selling the results.

If those don’t appeal to you, I’d hang on to your karma. A couple of recent comments by ANet suggest it will have additional uses/value in the future.

I use all my karma on the Orrian Jewelry Boxes, since I get Obsidian Shards and lodestone from it. Not to mention when I dump 1mil karma (and repeat because of the karma consumables) I tend to get a few gold selling the junk item. I wish there was a fast consume/consume all for it though.
