Defeated state and autocamera rotation
They need to get rid of the zoom when you get downed.
Does it actually zoom in when you’re downed? I thought it was just a situation where the limited FOV was especially troublesome? If it zooms then I absolutely agree that needs to go. Makes it very tough to use certain skills e.g. thief teleport.
I agree with this one. The camera issues are bad enough without the extra disorientation from automoving the camera when you’re downed. It’s hard enough to fight other players when you’re also fighting the camera.
I agree with both ideas stated above. Please expand the “downed state” field of view and also remove auto rotate on the defeated view. Not sure why Anet thought those would be a good idea to begin with really..
I guess you could say this is one of the biggest Dislikes I have about GW2, is defeated camera. Please just disable it, and let us have normal views. People hate being dead as it is without this annoyance.
Agreed. Not only that, we lose the sense of direction when downed. Please allow us to tell north from south so that we can get prepared to run in the right direction when rezz’ed.
“When players get defeated you get a pitch black screen and your map turns blank. All you can do is wait if someone is around and willing to res you. You see no enemies, no allies only the black screen. If someone resurrects you, you’d have to instantly realize your surrounding and hope that you’re not under an enemy aor circle.”
Compared to a more “realistic” death. The current, you have limited vision, impaired hearing thing is pretty generous…
Yes, please consider turning the auto rotation thing off, it’s quite irritating having to battle with it. Thank you.

The only problem with this point is that in GW2 you get a set of skills to use in the downed state – they would be pretty useless if it worked the way you described. Yes it may be “generous” in comparison but it is a gameplay design. The gameplay design is significantly impeded by the camera issues in my (and apparently plenty of others) opinion.
… or allow the player to disable it.
If I am dead I naturally want to focus my attention on my allies to see when and if someone can resurrect me. The forced camera rotation after a few seconds is really annoying in this situation.
The fact that the minimap isn’t available in “death mode” is inconvenient as well.
Didn’t see the other topic (forum search doesn’t work for me).

“Auto pan camera” is terrible, I find it really annoying.
I want to put the camera where I want it and I want it to STAY there.

I may have misunderstood it, but he was talking about defeated state, not downed state. I had no problem looking around in downed state btw.
They might do it this way intentionally so it’s hard to spy on enemies in WvW when you’re dead.
i don’t really get what you are guys are talking about, either i misunderstand something, or i don’t have the same camera as you xD
Hmm do you maybe have “Use Free Camera” turned off? that kinda the only thing i could think of that might cause what you say, i can think of
When you die and don’t touch anything, the camera spins. That’s what this is about.
which as i said i have NEVER noticed…
