Seriously, this is your A-team? They all die extremely quickly in dungeons – often being defeated in regular trash fights.

Just give Destiny’s Edge members “Determined” invulnerability and reduce their damage to a pathetic number so that we can at least pretend to be fighting alongside Tyria’s “greatest heroes.”

The reason why NPCs die quickly is so players cannot afk while NPCs do all the work.

This can be abused by Bots for easy quick loot, easy experience, and all they had to do is leave the instance before the personal story is complete.

I partially agree with this, some cases though (very few) it wouldn’t be really needed. But I’d rather fight to keep an NPC alive rather than fight to fend off (whatever) just to be able to rez the NPC over ’n over.

Not if you make them do next to no damage.

If it took Destiny’s Edge npc’s like 3 hours to kill a boss, then there would be no purpose in abusing them.

Then what would be the point of the NPCs being there in the first place, if you changed them to do no damage?

Sorry but the point of Personal Stories, is in fact involving YOU, in the story, the NPCs are helping YOU.

That means, YOU, have to contribute, rather or not if you die or lack the skill to kill the NPCs and have to run back.
