Development Team Unreachable
Yeh the old one looks alot nicer, I don’t see why they would of changed it anyway :o.
I’d like to add that a thread in the Asura forum shows that Asura T3 Heavy has also been changed slightly. Link.
- Overall clipping and stretching issues with the armors.
- T3 light: Those “weird shoulder straps” you speak of are supposed to be there, though they are apparently part of the chest armor instead of the shoulder armor rendering players unable to hide and/or dye them separately.
- T3 light: The huge ear covers simply look ridiculous.
- T3 heavy: The metal helmet has apparently been “rubberized”, though I am not certain what is meant by this, I can only assume the pieces over the ears now move with your ears when you enter or leave combat.
- T3 heavy: The shoulder armor has been made smaller. Not quite sure if I like this change or not.
- T3 heavy: The shoulder armor has apparently also been “rubberized”, I can only assume it is meant that they change their shape a little along with your character’s body.
I’ve been trying to farm gold for my T3 heavy set, but I don’t know if I really still want it with the changes. I think a reversion of these armor changes would be appreciated, though I can only speak for myself and not for everyone.
8/9 Professions, Asura Guardian main.
Imagine if you bought the dreamer, which had an amazing rainbow you really liked, then they made it a clip art unicorn that looks like a pre-preschooler drew it and that is a legendary!
I understand what you mean for the most part, It would be nice if they could revert major changes to certain items.
Anet has our money and they are doing what they want to heck with the people that play their games. They change, stuff take stuff out of the game and think we should love it. More and more I am wishing that I had not bought this game. It’s an amazing game and fun to play but then Anet keeps tweeking this or that we no regards to the players. Personally I don’t think most of these game companies care. They make their money on 80% of the satisfied players and to bunk with the 20% that whine and complain about all their great changes. Blah.
Still waiting for an answer and this will be the 7th report ill be making to the support page.
Don’t hold your breathe. One thing you can be sure of….they don’t care. Wish they did, but I had the same problem in GW1 and hope things would get better, but I can see it’s the same old Anet. As long as they are making money they can afford to ignore those of us that don’t see their game through rose colored glasses.
You might want to update your title to be more relevant to your post. Something like “Please change Asura Female T3 Armor Back”. Right now, the title suggests you’re suggesting a way for the Development team to be more reachable when it’s not.
It won’t be easy though unless tons of people want it reverted. Since the artist/designer of the armor have their own level of preference, it’s entirely possible that they didn’t like how their old armor looked and wanted to update it.
(Btw, I like the new model better. It has more prominent parts like the ears and the chest area. So it’s not like everyone wants it reverted :P)

They should add another helmet/shoulders and give you both options.

I know I should but there are threads like that going on and none has been answered to.
Right now I just want an answer from the development team.
I understand some people might like the changes to the skin, but it is not what we, the people paid for.
we wasted 120 gold to a skin which we thought looked awesome, otherwise we wouldnt have bought it.

Yeah, tell me about it. No way my Norn thief is gonna strap that crap to his back. Much less shoot it (eee eee ee eee ee ee). He’d be laughed out of every moot for the rest of his life. His only Legend would be as a laughing stock. Bad enuff when it was just the rainbow.

I didn’t mind the rainbow, I thought it was subtle and amazing in its own way, specially in WvW if you died to it. Now it’s gone to far, whoever designed that unicorn should be ashamed.

Was probably a Brony. And yeah, was funny getting shot with it.

The fact several of these problems may not even be considered ‘bugs’ by Anet disturbs me greatly. It could mean the armor will stay like this forever..
Two other threads regarding the same issue:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/races/asura/Tier-3-light-cultural-armor-changes/first#post1562075
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Is-this-a-bug-or-intentional/first#post1560571
Neither of which got a response. Now, I understand Anet can’t respond directly to every thread out there. But come on, a perfectly good (and expensive) armor was ruined while it only needed one piece fixed (the shoulders).
Instead, everything that was perfect was needlessly changed, and the only thing that actually needed to change hasn’t been worked on at all. I’m sorry but.. really? Really guys?

I know, they havnt responded to any of those threads, and when you make a report on te support page they tell you to post it on the suggestions section so the development team can look at it.
So far we havnt had an answer yet and this goes for so many people..
Not to hijack the thread or anything…..
But I hopped over here from the WvW/PvP threads I normally take place in…..and I can’t stop laughing here….. xD
While I understand it would suck to farm for an armor piece and have it marginally changed……I really can’t understand why people are THIS upset?
IMHO A-Net has much, much bigger things to worry about (WvW culling, skill lag in pve and wvw, new game content, bugs, glitches, hacks, exploits, class skills working incorrectly, and a LOT of other major game issues) So seeing a thread where people are pretty upset about a shoulder strap being altered and ear-muffs being a few inches higher…..I have to laugh. Character looks are nice, but as long as there are things that affect actual gameplay….I really think cosmetics should take a back seat.
Didn’t mean to derail, but thought it would be fair to provide some of “the other sides” opinion.

Normally I’d agree with you. But we are talking about a problem that’s bothering almost everyone who has this armor and should be very easy to fix.
Problems like this happened before. I believe it was with the corrupted longbow (correct me if I’m wrong) from which the appearance was changed, much to the dismay of many players. And after enough people informed Anet that they wanted the Longbow restored, it eventually was. Since Anet was prepared to revert that change for a Longbow, I hope they will do the same thing for this armor.

My thoughts exactly mate, why change armor skins that were fine the way they were and people paid money for the way they were while what they should be doing is focussing on real problems as stated above.
P.S still no answer from the Development Team.
(edited by Hei.9817)
I feel for those this effects. I don’t understand why they would change it. Better stated, from my eye’s, I can’t see how someone on the Dev team thought this looks nicer.
If I was in charge, I would simply have BOTH available. Give the people, CHOICES! Why not have available both ver.1 and ver.2? Seems like it would always be the best solution in this situation.
Is it to much to ask from the development Team to give us an answer?
I know you guys probably have more things to do than answer every single question out here but I have been sending email after email and I keep getting told this is the only way to reach you guys and even this doesnt seem to work.

Unless you’ve had the physical appearance of your character changed for the worse, AND your reaction was what you think these people’s reaction should be, you really have no place making an opinion here.
When the Total Makeover Kit bug was breaking the glow for the female Sylvari we used it on, you’d better believe we made a huge stink about it. Character appearance is very important to people. We work so hard to make them look exactly the way we want them to. If the devs didn’t know how important looks are to players, they wouldn’t have created the legendary weapons, which are aesthetic improvements that take a whole lot more work to create for no stat advantage. To have your character’s look changed without your consent via dev decision or game bug is FRUSTRATING to say the least. It’s something that makes you madder every time you log in and stare at your character.

I dont think I could have said this any better, character appearance is very important to me and Alot of people out there.
What I dont understand is that there is so many art and wallpapers made by anet where you can see the asura ( zojja ) wearing a T3 set exactly how it should look.
they have been advertising this set if you ask me and when I saw it I just had to have it too, and now they just changed its appearance..
I dont know about you but I dont see any oversized ear-covers in this art work or any art work for that matter.
