My suggestion is that for every bot account that gets banned, the gold made by that bot gets equally distributed to all players that reported that bot.

This would encourage everyone to report them, plus be a nice bit of compensation for everyone who was effected by them, yet took the time to report them.

I can see it now…we’ll have an army of report bots reporting the farming bots. The report bots will take their gold and give it to different gold sellers.

Bots suck.

No. We don’t need to incentivize players to report bots. All the income a farming bot makes needs to be taken out of the game, not redistributed to the players, as redistributing doesn’t solve the problem that reporting bots intends to fix in the first place.

I’d love to hear what is or might be done about the horrible botting problem – instead of being pointed to a thread that’s locked for discussion with no information.

Not a bad idea; however, I think it would be better to give out Karma for reporting bots when said botter is banned. After all, doing good things merits positive Karma non?

They said they banned thousands of accounts already, are closely monitoring the software used, and hired a couple data miners to help them build automated bot-finding tools. What else do you want to know?
