Diversity in crafted weapons!
The Rare and Exotic skins are different.
You can also buy the Godskull weapon recipes up in Fireheart Rise.

If it’s the South, wouldn’t it be ‘down’ there?
There’s also a Wooden Sword skin in the Norn starting area

The armors are perfect when it comes to diversity because each crafted set is different.
They aren’t. Just like weapons, skins stay the same in the same ‘base material’.
Examples:
lvl 60 light fine rarity ‘Winged’ armour has the same skin as lvl 65 masterwork rarity ‘Winged’ armour.
lvl 30 fine ‘Outlaw’ leatherworking medium set has same skin as lvl 35 masterwork ‘Outlaw’ set.
Yes, fine and masterwork Winged armor looks the same. That’s not what he meant though. Jute armor, Wool armor, Cotton armor, Linen armor, and Silk armor tiers all have different looks (Embroidered, Student, Acolyte, Winged, Feathered), and then the rare and exotic have even more (Masquerade, Exalted).
(I think his comment might have made more sense if he’d said each crafted tier was different instead of set, because Winged is Winged, whether its fine or masterwork after all)
For the weapons, The bronze, Iron, Steel, Darksteel, and Mithril greatswords (as well as every other weapon) looks pretty much exactly the same, if not exactly the same, for fine as well as masterwork. Tailor, Leatherworker, and Armorsmithing were pretty interesting to level up, each tier was exciting to discover. For Weaponsmith, Huntsman, and Artificer? blah, every tier it’s the same generic crappy skin you find on all the junk stuff that drops, from bronze swords to elder wood staves and bows.
It’s lame, and makes leveling those professions tedious and boring.
Yeah there are some rare and exotics you can craft, but the tiers don’t have anywhere near as much diversity as the armors. Now, there are weapon set recipes here and there, Godskull, Corrupted…..probably some others I’m not aware of and those have some pretty interesting skins sure, it just would have been nice for some of the stuff I was crafting to look halfway decent.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
I 100% agree with ScribeTheMad. He describes my irritation with this to the T.
Fully agree, just leveled weaponsmithing last week and was surprised by how BORING the weapons looked.
