You should know what I am talking about. I am no where near any civilization as I play through maps and I get a whisper from the unwanted. Sure I ignore them, but now it has become annoyance. At first their messages were scare but now it is almost everyday. I, like many other unfortunate players, are on their little messaging board that spams out whispers to millions of players to try to sell gold too. I don’t want their service and it is really starting to get on my nerve. I love you, I do, but do something. Same thing when in you’re in Lion’s Arch. Some bot is spamming trying to sell gold. If you can’t ban the name, IP or whatever, then ban the content. Make it to where they can’t type in their website or string certain words together. Give them the “excessive messaging” or “content is not allowed” crap. Please and Thank you!

I /block and then /report any scammers or gold sellers. I have never seen the same message more than once, except when I am in combat and can’t /block quickly enough.

Although ANet needs to verify reports, they often ban accounts within a minute of a reports.

Prohibiting certain phrases is almost never successful: it turns into an arms race. If ANet makes the phrase too general, it affects honest players. If ANet makes it too specific, the spammers make tiny modifications to the text. BannedText.com becomes BaNNedtext.com or Banned Text dot com (no spaces). Or they just get a new URL to use (tinyurl.com/feisty). At that point, ANet is spending far too many resources trying to maintain the banned list and fewer resources dealing with specific accounts or root causes.
