Documenting Living Story
I support this, or something to the same effect.
However it still doesnt change the fact Anet need to start pushing this stuff into the cutscenes and presentation of the LS. Further still, even with a history book, the average player probably wont take too much notice and still shout the forums down about the Lore and writers being terrible. Id agrue thakittens the presentation of the narrative is bad, not the narrative itself.
Gw2 is in a weird state when speaking of story. Alot hinges on how they wrap everything together going further with scarlet. I hope im right in saying they still have to do that in the next few updates after SAB, I sincerely hope they arnt satisfied with ‘yeah scarlet has been behind all the attacks, nothing more to it, shes a bad kitten and please dont worry about hows, whens and whys, the queen wasnt going to announce something world changing forget we mentioned that, just shut the kitten up and play our minigames’ otherwise my faith in the writing staff (emphasises by the website short stories and gw1) has been misplaced.
Yeah, in that regard I do hope we will get to do some detective work be that the short story announced several in game characters (Guy who greets awakened Sylvari, as well as the Pale Tree) to get some insight on Scarlet.
That being said, I do believe a history book will keep things in tact in terms of giving players who missed certain events at least a general idea of what happened, and for those who played it a more in depth story line. It’s just a kick-off point, but I hope something of its nature is implemented!
