Please A.net do not forget to address the rampant particle effects issue.
it is hard to see what is going on even in dungeons with only 5 people, it is almost impossible to see important places to use block or dodge as it is.
Also I’d like to add that to many skills have the same kind of sound effect.
this coupled with the visual issues makes it hard to know what skill is being used.
I’d say each elite skill and profession signature skills need to have their own unique sound effect.
Example:
I hate to mention Stun Wars here, but one of the few things swtor did get right is sound and particle effects saturation.
Sound example:
you’re in the middle of a 10 v 10 fight and all of a sudden there’s this distinctive sound of lightning or gravity gun, at that moment you know for sure a trooper is destroying people with his grav rounds and a sorcerer is decimating the enemy with fork lighting.
Particle effects example:
even in a 10 v 10 fight, you can still see enemy hand movements and what they are doing, you can also easily identify your friendly aoe even if the same class is being played by both sides, for example if both sides have lightning aoe 1 team lightning is reddish color with a red ground marker and the other team has purple lightning with purple ground marker.
Time to kill PVP:
the time to kill in the lower PVP brackets is way to low, players die in the span of 4 seconds. Yet another thing swtor got right TTK was the best part of balance in swtor PVP.
Yes, swtor flopped because they made to many mistakes, but we have to give credit where credit is due, sound, particle effects and TTK are the best things swtor had going for it.
