Right now a mini goes back to inventory if you dont have it in a secure storage when you hit the deposit all collectibles button. Mini pets should stay with player until dismissed, including changing areas and clicking deposit button for other items

they aren’t treated like mats, they are a colectible, just as they should so they don’t waste your bank space xD

That doesn’t change the OP’s point. When you “deposit all collectibles” the minis go too. Yes, they’re collectible, but let’s look at (what I shall call “reality”). Most players use Deposit All Collectibles to instantly deposit crafting materials. Minis are not materials. Change the text, maybe, to read “Deposit all Materials”…or exclude Mini’s from being taken…or give them an exclusion text box (like masks / hoods / shoulders have in the H menu). It’s not that hard.

If you use the appropriate bag for storing your minis (and any other goodies you want to retain and not accidentally sell to vendors) this is not a problem.
