Seeing as dragons are the enemy (mostly) I doubt this festival will be one of celebrating dragons but of having survived them another year

The celebration still makes sense, as it was never really a festival celebrating dragons. Dragon, in Dragon Festival, is symbolic of the “Empire of the Dragon”, or Cantha, and was a major element in the reconstruction after the Jade Wind.

Except it doesn’t: 1) No Cantha right now 2) Pretty sure Cantha “has worse problems” to deal with, ya know, dragons and stuff. Bad joke completely intended.
