Dragons, Dwarves, Raids? More Content?!

You want dwarves, go to the movies. They’re falling all over themselves.
While I agree about adding a new race, I don’t know if I’d want the Dwarves honestly. I’d much rather see the Tengu or Largos added since they’re uniquely designed, because let’s face it, Dwarves are a VERY common race to see in mmo’s and I’d rather see something else. As for the dragons, yes. They NEED to get back to the Elder Dragons and (hopefully) open up new maps with them. Doing the world map was great the first time, but we’ve all seen it a bunch of times by now : /
The Dwarves all turned to stone and are now battling Primordius and his minions… They will never be playable, they sacrificed the lives they once had in order to keep Tyria safe. Please people stop asking for dwarves, the lore is already in place showing us that they can’t come back.
ALL Dwarves underwent the rite – Ogden being the last – there are no dwarves who are not stone, and if they retconned this and produced some who did not undergo the rite then that would be really shocking story telling. Not to mention said dwarves would be traitors to their entire race.
I like the idea of the Dwarves returning as a playable race, even if it’s only underground, as well as getting Primordus into the mix.
I also like the idea of adding the Tengu and Largo as playable races as well (heck, I’d love to play as a Quaggan Ranger, though I wonder what his pet would be ).
If they added dwarves to this game, they might as well add elves, hobbits, and Sauron. Fantasy is more than just dwarves and elves and I, for one, I’m thrilled they’re not in this game. The only two MMOs I accept them in is Lord of the Rings and DDO, because I feel they have a right to be there.
But the rest of the fantasy could do a lot better than trying to copy Tolkien. Better writers have already done so.
I agree.
also want more Classes /Skills/ Weapons/ Vehicles/Housing
to go with the OP’s request.
I like it. Stone Dwarves would be a good way to add Primordus as the next elder dragon to face. They need to look like STONE tho. with like glowing cracks and runes covering them or something. not just short/fat norns
Tengu and Largos are kinda stupid looking. and making armor on them would be a nightmare. o the clipping…
Gate of Madness
I don’t care what new race JUST ANY AT THIS POINT pve is dull, raids would be awesome, new professions needed, new weapons like battle axe would be amazing
even better looking gear for leveling would be great
Regardin the challenge the game should give:
Give each type of enemy a special attack that the enemy uses frequently enough for the player to be worried about.
After that, make the player fight more than one type of enemy at once.

That’s personal opinion. I think the Tengu and Largos look great, as do a LOT of other players. Dwarves look stupid and are possibly the ugliest race to ever grace fantasy…
Regarding armour clipping – not true AT ALL. Tengu use the Charr model and their bodies are thinner, they have nothing protruding from their body other than a tail so armour clipping is likely to be less of an issue than it is with Charr. Largos are humanoid which means fitting armour on them would be relatively easy – Look at the Sylvari, Human and Norn – armour has little clipping on them because they’re relatively similar in shape.

Tengu gets first pick. They’ve been built up for a very long time since GW1 and actually DO have a capital city, extensive lore and zones. Everything is in place considering they were one of the races that were seriously considered. Anet just needs to do something with them.

yes this is my opinion. and saying Dwarves look stupid is yours. that’s fine. I would be happy with ANY new race. But I would like Dwarves first. Or they could just add them all together. Now Tengu wouldn’t clip as bad as char since they don’t have horns or tails.. but they have feathers and inverted legs. And Largos are human shaped, but they have giant wings that will clip with any back item/large shoulders/2h weapons.
As for Lore; Dwarves and Tengu have a good background to bring them in. While largos as much. and we musnt forget the Kodan.
Based on a chart ANet showed earlier this year Charr are the least played race. I don’t think Tengu will be much better since they look about the same.

I too have thought of elemental vulnerability. Like why don’t the plant types take more damage when I use fire. Or, why don’t aquatic enemies take more damage from lightning skills. But there is only one class that has those abilities and would make the Ele a little too OP.
I don’t think the Dwarves are extinct. They are deep within the Shiverpeaks fighting the Destroyers and the Elder Dragon there.
I would rather have the Tengu as a playable race. The Largo would be cool too but I don’t recall ever seeing them out of water.

You can find them out of the water during a couple of Dynamic events and also near the end of the personal story during a mission at Fort trinity.

xD. If you listen to them talk on land they have a bit of a Darth Vader muffle going on – so I think the implication is that their breathing device is what allows them to breathe on land, and that they are naturally aquatic (as is sort of implied by them almost always being underwater).
Agree the game desperately needs a new race. I keep wondering why I have such nostalgia for previous MMOs and I think part of it is the rich lore of some of the races – dark elves, dwarves, wood elves, etc.
I think your player base would flood these forums with praise if you added a new race – specifically dwarves (even though I’m partial to elves)
They’re already said no elves.. The Sylvari are their answer to elves. Anet doesn’t want to create another typical fantasy MMO filled with elves, dwarves and orcs…
^ That.
Dark elves, wood elves, dwarves etc. have such a rich lore because their creators create a rich lore. The fact that they’re elves isn’t what makes the lore rich. A-net could conceivably make an elven race but without them creating a rich lore they are just pointy eared humans. But a rich lore can be created for any playable race. And even non-playable ones.
Pah 4 race in this universe we could play legitimately without ruining the lore
1. Tengu
2. Centaurs
3. Kodan
4. Quaggan
Forget about dwarves they will never come back.. As for the elves Anet already stated that the sylvaris are their definition of the Elve word so forget about them as well. Id like to see a 4 legged race quite a lot in the game so Centaur definitively got my smile especialy as ranger (where did Zhed go o_O)
Largos could be played but lets be honest they are to shady as a race to make more then a background story idea. Quaggan altrought listed above for behing popular have been already cathegorised as a minor race and have no more odds of behing played then grawl skritts ogre or hyleks.
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3
I would much prefer a new race rather than the Dwarves, whose lore was explored pretty extensively in GW. I have no doubt that we will run into some remaining Dwarves when we get to Primordus, but I really have no desire to play as one.
Right now, I’m hoping for the Tengu because they have the potential to help with or be related to opening up Cantha, and the Kodan just because I would love to find out more about their culture.

I hope that if they do have a new playable race that they also come out with a new class. I don’t want to have two of one class.

Dwarves are already in Guild Wars lore.
