Dual-Class System
Agreed, this should be the first change in the new expansion along with more utilities, elites, and heal skills for each class. Also, make weapon skills slottable. Players want more options, not stupid restrictions.
Ugh, please no. That led to so many balancing problems and muddled character concepts. I much prefer the simplicity of GW2’s system.
@vonBoomslang, I feel like the current system is dry, and easily boring.
Adaptions FROM the old system to a new system to keep everything balanced.
-You MUST take the corresponding slot skill Slot 1:Slot 1
-Possibly no utility skills ?
-No Secondary Profession traits.
-Limited to PvE/WvW, while keeping sPvP structured, wholesome, balanced tourney style PvP
I feel it creates more Combinations/Playability while reducing balancing issues
Any other thoughts ?
No, terrible idea, was already scrapped in development of the game. The complexity this would add would destroy the absolutely perfect balance we have right now.

@ nels the game rly isnt balanced, and anet knows it which is why they’re working on it.
also anyone who played gw1 and looked forward to gw2 with any serious interest knew that there wasnt dual classing.
your complaint stems from your lack of research before you bought a product.
that said i would like some variance in weapon skills like the ability to change the condition applied like a ranger applying vulnerability on flanking shots with the sbow instead of bleed. to remove a dependance on condition damage. or maybe apply poison to reduce healing at the cost of dps.
I never saw any word about no dual classes. Many things were said in development and were changed, that’s that. But what I’m stuck at is the restrictions of the weapon’s current skill set up. I’m suggesting a modified dual-class system that would expand the skill choices of each weapon.
The current system is streamlined, and easy to balance. Adding more just doesn’t make sense. If you’re not happy with your skill variety, play an elementalist, they’ve got 100 different weapon skills, and can use utilities to make another 25.

Every class should have that many options.
No, they really shouldn’t. If you want everyone to be a unique and special flower, and everyone to be balanced and not have 50% of the skills just never be used.... You’re just asking for the impossible.

The whole point of having different classes is to…have them be separate. Warriors shouldn’t be getting stealth, Rangers should not be raising the dead, and Engies should not be using magic. Each class has its own special flavor to go along with it.
