Dual Spec Just for Underwater
I actually really like this idea. I play elementalist and I would definitely say my playstyle is very different underwater by necessity.
I don’t know how workable it would be, but I’d certainly not complain if they implemented it.
I agree with this. I really love underwater fighting, but I just feel too underpowered in terms of damage and survivability compared to regular combat… Surely some fixes need to be done, and maybe a underwater specific trait build would be nice
Fully agree, but I dont want them to make new traits just for underwater, but a “dual spec” like thing for underwater and on surface would be great.
Bump for good idea. You don’t need to add new traits for this to work. Each trait line is connected to a specific weapon(s), so just add underwater weapons to those traitlines. Or “just” make some traits have double usageability.
@ Easterlily, that’s what basically the idea is, a dual spec just for underwater. They don’t have to put in thought in designing new traits or anything, just let us have a spec we can tailor for our underwater needs.
Some classes like the Engineer already have aquatic weapons included in some of their traits.
Man would I love this! I’m certain my necro would be happy happy

I think it’s to few underwater events/hearts. They should add more in the future.
I would rather see existing utility skills (necromancer wells in particular) be given underwater available versions and have traits made that work both on land and underwater.
Some classes have weapons that make very graceful transitions underwater (ranger spear comes to mind) , while others do not. I think this is simply a matter of balancing and should, must, come in time.
The worst change going from land to underwater that I have experienced is (I have not played all classes ) with necromancer’s Death Shroud, where not only several traits are made moot, but the functionality for solo play is impaired because of the changes to skill #4.
I would like to see the transition from land to water be made smoother. Underwater gameplay will always be different from land, but traits should remain useful and more utility (and elites) should be available. Otherwise, underwater becomes punishing for many classes.
I don’t get how I can shout underwater and throw fire underwater but I can’t throw bolas underwater. Making certain skills unavailable, when you think about the ones that already are available, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
That being said, yes. People need an underwater spec for their traits that switches.
Not sure why they thought switching your skills out was okay but not your traits. Guess it was just overlooked.
Seems to be quite a few people that like the idea on reddit, we’ll see
